The Nasarawa State House of Assembly has today passed for Second reading the 2020 Appropriation bill of N100.519,956,857,00. as submitted to the house on Wednesday by Gov Abdullahi Sule.
Speaker of the House, Rt Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi announced this after the house leader Umar Tanko Tunga opened a debate on that effect which received overwhelmed support of members.
The Speaker who commended members for given due consideration and allow the appropriation bill to pass through second reading committed it to the house committee on Finance and Appropriation to report back to the house on 17th Dec.2019.
He called on all government MDAs to come for budget defence with immediate effects noting that the exercise is lasting for eleven days.
“A Bill for a law to Authorize the issue out of the consolidated Revenue fund of the state (Appropriation )of the sum of N100.519,956,857.00 for the services of Nasarawa State Government for the period of 12 months commencing 1st January,2020 and ending 31st Dec.2020 scale Second reading”.
During the sitting, the chairman house committee on Judiciary John Osewu (Doma South, PDP)Presented report on “A Bill for a Law to Provide for Witness protection Law and for Other matters connected Therein “where the Speaker slated 23rd Dec. 2019 for debate.
Similarly, the house also deliberated on report of the joint committee on Education and that of Agriculture on “A Bill for a law for the Establishment of collage of Agriculture, Science and Technology in lafia.
