Nasarawa State governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has commended those who challenged his election victory in the court as they were moved by patriotism and sincere concern for justice and genuine respect for democracy.
Reacting to the verdict of the Supreme Court which confirmed his victory at the governorship election on Wednesday, Governor Abdullahi Sule thanked God for bringing to an end the trial and affirming his victory at the governorship election.
Engineer Sule said “We therefore do not consider ourselves as winners and do not see the opposition who challenged my election victory as losers.
“We are all one people”, bound by the common desire to serve our people and develop Nasarawa State, I therefore thank the opposition for seeking a clear interpretation of the law as regards my election victory and by this action, expand the very frontiers of our democracy.
“Now that the verdict has been pronounced, I call on all citizens to unite across party lines and join hands with my administration to work together for the greater good of Nasarawa State. Nasarawa State belongs to all of us and we are blessed with credible citizens and iconic personalities of different political shades and leanings who can contribute to the development and progress of our dear State.
I welcome you all with open hands to join us in taking Nasarawa State to its rightful place of destiny”.
