The Kogi state Executive Council has been dissolved and some of the former Commissioners retained as Special Advisers.
The Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello who announced the cabinet dissolution durning the Executive Council meeting as well as its valedictory session on Wednesday, expressed delight that lcitizens became more united irrespective of background during his first 4 years tenure.
He reiterated that the state had steadily progressed from what it was in 2016 when the administration came on board.
He said he would remain committed to the path of unity even in his second term as only peaceful coexistence could guarantee true development in the state and the country.
He appreciated the outgoing cabinet members for their inputs to his government and sought their advice even outside government.
After dissolving the Executive Council, Governor made some immediate appointments, with some retaining their positions.
Those reappointed are Chief of Staff, AbdulKarim Muhammad Jamiu Asuku, Deputy Chief of Staff, Sunday Faleke, State Security Adviser, Commander Jerry Omodara, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onogwu Muhammed.
Others retained are David Ape Special Adviser on Agriculture, State Auditor General, Yakubu Okala, Local Government Auditor General, Usman Ododo as well as the Accountant General Jibrin Momoh.
Those retained and appointed as Special Advisers, include Barrister Ibrahim Muhammad Sani former Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General now Special Adviser Legal matters, Idris Ashiru Asiwaju (Finance) now Special Adviser on Finance, Budget & Economic planning, Doctor Saka Haruna (Health) now Special Adviser, Health and Engineer Abubakar Ohere, former Commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs now Special Adviser Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, while Kinsley Fanwo who was Director General Media and Publicity is now Special Adviser, Information & Communication.
