The Administrator of Kogi Local Government Council, Barrister Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku has admonished Christians to join forces with other Nigerians of different mode of worships to pray for the continuous unity, peace and rapid development of the area.
Barrister Tanko made the appeal in his Christmas message today to the people of Kogi local government area of Kogi state.
He said as “we live, farm, fish, trade and go to the markets and schools together, so shall we continue to struggle for peaceful coexistence and development of our area. ”
According to the Administrator, “Jesus Christ the Spiritual Son of Her Holiness Mary (Mariam) was sent by the almighty God to address the high degree of immorality and preach peace and righteousness”.
He therefore urged adherents of Christianity and other religions to understand that all they are worshiping is the same God and appealed to them to tolerate each other in all interactions socially, economically and politically.
The Local Government Council Administrator also assured the people of the area of government’s readiness to protect lives and properties as well as equal provision of socio – economic amenities.
He called on the residents to pray for peace and tranquility in the state, without which there will be no progress. “Respect one another and eschew bitterness in politics so that dividends of democracy will not elude us”.
“I also use this opportunity to appeal to all Christians to emulate and imbibe the virtues of Jesus Christ so that we benefit not only on this earth, but also in the hereafter”. Barr. Tanko counseled.
He called on the entire people of the state to support, cooperate with the Yahaya Bello administration and be loyal as the 2nd segment of the new direction government takes off next month.
“I sincerely wish you all a happy and merry Christmas, and prosperous new year in advance”. He prayed.
