Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has reiterated his Administration’s commitment to continue to support the Armed forces, law enforcement agencies and the families of fallen heroes in the state.
The governor, who made the declaration on Wednesday at the commemoration and celebration of the 2020 Armed Forces Remembrance Day held at the historical Military in Lokoja, charged the living heroes to continue to defend the nation’s sovereignty.
He equally urged the citizens to support the government in catering for the well being of the loved ones left behind by the nation’s fallen heroes.
Governor Bello implored the citizens to maintain law and order as security was a collaborative effort of different sectors of the society.
While encouraging people to see security as everybody’s business, Bello appealed to the media to be patriotic in reporting security issues and avoid falsehood.
The celebration was attended by heads of security agencies , representatives of retired Service Men and the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Dr. Ado Ibrahim, who also laid wreaths in honour and remembrance of the nation’s fallen heroes.
The governor had earlier inspected the Guard of Honour, signed the register, and released the white pigeons which symbolises existing national peace.
