The Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku Youth Empowerment Foundation (PAAYEF), is a Charity Foundation committed to the education and empowerment of the indigent child, youth and women. It is a Non-Governmental Organization which will partner with Schools, Hospitals, Motherless babies homes Clinics, Mosques, Churches, Government Ministries, Government Agencies and well meaning Nigerians and other NGOs, Charity foundations who wants to make positive impact in our country.

The Foundation through its educational outreach program, a project specifically designed to facilitate access to high-quality educational opportunities for children from several communities in Kogi State, Nigeria had paid WAEC fees for orphans and less privileged indigent students across Kogi Central and many from the other two senatorial districts last week and will be commencing the payment of tuition fees for less privileged higher institutions’ students, this week.

This Foundation provides educational experiences for young people in classrooms, libraries, after-school programs, qualification examinations, community-based etc., as well as supporting the professional development of the professionals and paraprofessionals who work with them.

The outreach program started few years ago due to a pervasive lack of education in the country, particularly among young orphans and the less privileged. Most had never been enrolled in school; others had dropped out after a few years to help support their families and spent their days begging on the streets. The Asuku4GYB sponsors their school tuition fees, provides uniforms, shoes, school supplies, and computer trainings.

Currently the foundation through it’s Asuku4GYB Education Outreach Program is currently in it’s 8th season of Education Outreach;

• Season 1: In the first Outreach program, it was the payment of WAEC and NECO fees across community secondary schools in Kogi Central.

• Season 2: The tuition fees for tertiary institutions’ students from Kogi Central was fully bankrolled by the Outreach Program to enable them have a hitch free academic session.

• Season 3: Free WAEC and NECO forms were bought and shared to students who could not afford them.

• Season 4: Free JAMB forms and registration for citizens of Kogi Central.

• Season 5: Three months free Computer training for over 150 youths from Kogi Central.

• Season 6: Payment of school fees for students in Tertiary institutions. In addition, the project research for those in Final year were fully funded by the Asuku4GYB Education Outreach Program.

• Season 7: Payment of WAEC and NECO fees for orphans and the less privileged in Kogi Central.

• Season 8: Payment of WAEC and NECO fees for orphans and the less privileged in Kogi Central and about to commence the payment of tuition fees for indigent students.

Goals.

The goals of the Foundation are:

• Empower young people and women through programming and mobilization in areas of Health, Environment, Sports development, education, skills and secured livelihood.

• To provide ophans and less privileged with the resources they need to attend school, because we believe that no child should be precluded from going to school for lack of basic school supplies, a clean uniform or shoes.

• To provide students with the support they need to have successful academic careers, because we recognize that, in addition to material resources, a great deal of academic, emotional, community-based support is required for them to thrive.

• To provide our children with the tools they need to prove to society that they can excel and become leaders in community irrespective of caste, gender and economic background.

… charges Muslims to Pray for an End to Insecurity

Ahead of the 2021 2021 Sallah celebration, the Member representing Toto/ Gadabuke at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa has distributed food items especially to youths, women and the elderly in his Constituent.

Hon. Shafa said the gesture was aimed at ameliorating the hardship people may be going through especially during the Ramadan period.

The Lawmaker who was represented by Alh. Musa Dasoko, admonished Muslims across State to use the holy month of Ramadan to pray for an end to the incessant killings and kidnapping facing the State and the Country at large.

“It is mandated of all Muslims to help those in need during this holy month and this year’s Ramadan came at a time when the world is grappling with the Corona Virus pandemic, kidnapping and other menace which has crippled businesses and means of livelihood of citizens

“It is only right for well-to-do individuals to support those in need, that is why Hon. Shafa is making this donation

“Members of the All Progressives Congress APC especially, Youths, Women and Elders played an important role in getting us elected into offices

“It is only natural that we reciprocate this gesture in this critical time

Hon Usman Labaran Shafa reiterate his commitment in delivering more needed dividends of democracy to better the lives of his people and urged the people of the State to continue to support the administration of the State Governor, Engr. A.A Sule to enable him succeed.

Othman Nuhu Pandagi who received the items on behalf of the Coordinators, described Hon. Shafa as a pace setter who has the interest of his people at heart.

“The other time he was the first person among our party leaders that brought food items and this time around he is again the first person to bring food items because of the Ramadan. We are saying a very big thank you to Hon. Shafa”

The new Senior Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Information and Political Strategy, Mr. Samuel Abah has called for collective support to the present administration in the State.

Mr Abah made the call in Lokoja shortly after receiving his appointment letter.

He explained that the task of developing the State should not be left to the Government alone, saying everyone has a role to play in governance.

The Senior Special Assistant maintained that it was necessary for the people to put aside their differences in order to build a Kogi State of the dream of the founding fathers.

Mr. Abah pledged to use his wealth of experience to contribute positively to the advancement of the State, stressing that his appointment was a call to service.

Nigerians Want Bello For President To Replicate Achievements In Kogi. — Solid Minerals Commissioner.

Kogi state Commissioner of solid minerals and natural resources, Hon. Bashir Muhammed Gegu, said that Nigerians from all works of life are clamouring for the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, to contest the 2023 presidential election, because of his numerous achievements recorded in just six years in office.

The Commissioner made the statement on Friday in Lokoja, after receiving an award and certificate of commendation from a group “Movement for Peaceful and Equitable Governance in Nigeria (MOPEGON).

He said the award symbolizes the confidence people have in the leadership of Alhaji Yahaya Bello and members of his cabinet, who have been toeing his steps to ensure a sustainable democratic and just administration.

Hon. Bashir Gegu explained that the first and most critical area Governor Bello, launched his political debut was security of the entire state as he inherited a virtually porous state where residents could not sleep as robbery, kidnapping and banditry became fashionable among criminals in the state.

Without waste of time, the new direction administration unified the already fragmented state, where ethnicity, sectionalism and religious segregation became the code of relationship and officialdom. Lopsided both in civil service and political appointments were redressed.

“Equitable distribution of socio economic amenities was introduced to give sense of belonging to all citizens, giving space to the less privileged to compete favourable with children of the well to do”, Bashir stated.

The Commissioner said the state government has embarked on healthcare infrastructural development, like the Okene ultra modern tertiary hospital and the 100 bed capacity hospitals at Gegu, Ajaokuta, Idah and Isanlu.

The rejection of Covid 19 pandemic in the state and the its implications on the economy of the state.

Other notable areas of achievements include education at all levels where the government has provided infrastructure in the schools,The Confluence university will soon commence full academic activities while other tertiary institutions in the state are stable without any disruption by strikes as seen in other institutions across the country.

The Commissioner therefore thanked the group for selecting him as worthy for the award, wishing them God’s guidance in all their endeavors.

Earlier while presenting the award to the Commissioner, the Director General and Chief Executive Officer of the movement for peaceful and equitable governance in Nigeria, Comrade Counsel Bello Omeiza, said the presentation is a marked recognition of his unique leadership qualities.

The group also noted that Hon. Bashir is a bridge builder who has been deeply concerned with consolidating peace across the country, describing him as an advocate of government working for the benefit of the governed.
