Okene Administrator Felicitates With Engr. Ohere, Pharm. Asuku, And Others On Their Appointments

Engr. Abubakar Ohere

The Administrator of Okene Local Government, Engr. (Mall) Abdulrazaq Muhammad has joined other well-wishers to congratulate the immediate past Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Engr. Abubakar Ohere on his appointment as Commissioner designate.

Hon. Abdulrazaq expressed satisfaction that, Ohere contributed immensely to the successes of the new direction government during the first tenure and his starring performances have once again earned him another glorious opportunity to do more.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Abdulmumin Abubakar, the Council Administrator expressed optimism that Engr. Ohere will again avail the state his unique and exclusive ideas, commitments and hard work that will help consolidate the achievements of the new direction government in the next level agenda.

In the same vain, Hon. Abdulrazaq also felicitates with the duo of Pharm. Abdulkareem MuhammedJamiu Asuku on his re-appointment as the Chief of Staff to the Governor and the immediate past Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Muhammed Sanni (SAN) also as a commissioner nominee.

According to him, the duo have displayed leadership qualities which is better described as excellent, also have shown strong character, loyalty, determination and unequalled commitments to make the government succeed in all phase of governance.

He wish them Allah’s continued guidance and protection in their new responsibilities, prays for wisdom, knowledge and ultimate understanding in the discharge of their duties, in respective tasks which may be assigned to them.

“I Am Not In Govt For Fame Or Money, But To Serve – Obaseki

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has said politicians must begin to prioritise the vehicle of governance to benefit the people, adding that political leaders must remain selfless for Nigeria to attain its full potential.

Speaking to journalists in Benin City, Obaseki said he is not in government to be famous or make money at the expense of ensuring development that will benefit the people.

The governor noted that there is need for a mechanism to be put in place to ensure transparency in government, noting, “Only few persons in government are held accountable for their decisions in government.”

According to him, “I am not in government to make money; I am not in government for fame. I am in government to serve. The youths are the reasons why I am in government. If I cannot serve you, I will quit.”

He added: “The issues of better government, proper governance and transparency are what we are emphasising. When we have younger people who can use technology in government, we will have transparency and accountability, which informed my decision to have many younger people working for my government.

“For things to be working in Nigeria there are structural challenges that we must fix. Let us not gloss over the cracks. Let us go to the foundation and begin to fix the conditions because the cracks are expanding so wide.”

The Kogi State Commissioner for Water Resources, Hon. Abdulmumini Danga, has urged Muslims across the globe to emulate the good morals, and teachings, tolerance of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W).

In a statement, the Commissioner urged Muslim faithful to continue to show love and sacrifice as espouse in Islam as they celebrate the birth of Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W).

The water Commissioner urged them to commit themselves to the teachings of the prophet not just as a matter of religious obligation but a means to promote peaceful living in a multicultural society.

He however, calls on the populace of Kogi State to continue rendering their supports and prayers to the Governor Yahaya Bello’s led administration in the State in order to get more dividends.
