Let me start with a quotation from one of world finest brains “If you love what you’re doing, you will be successful in life” Albert Scweitzer.

Maikaya Development Foundation inline with the vision and mission to promoting sports at the grassroot and encourage unity of purpose, harmonious coexistence amongst diverse ethnic nationalities in Nigeria, the famous, fastest growing Non Governmental Organization (NGO) in the sub-Saharan Africa has organized a befitting football tournament that kick-started over a month ago and ended today with prize giving to the participants who were selected from nooks and crannies of the State.

An eyes witnessed who monitor the tournament told Global Times Nigeria that the game was peacefully, tactically with encounter from various teams that participated in the just concluded tournament.

However, the Container FC of Gadabuke Development Area and Rafin Kunama Toto FC played 3:2 to emerge overall winner of the competition.

In his brief remarks, the CEO of the Foundation, His Excellency, Chief, Dr. Muhammed Musa Maikaya (Ciroman Toto) expressed gratitude to all the players, officials, organizers, spectators over their support and prayers which the tournament record a hitch free successfully.

Maikaya reiterated the commitment and determination of the Foundation total resolved to use sports to promote unity in the grassroot level. The successful entrepreneur and philanthropist took the congregation along memory lane where he emphatically highlighted some of the challenges emanated from ethnic crisis that engulfed Toto LGA and it’s environs for over some decades and the need for stakeholders to collectively work in synergy towards ensuring peace is maintain and sustain in the area.

According to Maikaya, the month-long football competition was peacefully, orderly and so many experiences were tapped and described the event as highly germane considering the performances of the youths as shown during the competition.

He specially and specifically thank the Executive Chairman of Toto LGA, Hon. Prince Nuhu Dauda, the Deputy Chairman of the Council, the Overseers of Gadabuke and Umaisha Development Areas for their collective supports given to them to ensure a hitch free tournament.

Earlier speaking, the Executive Chairman Toto LGC, Hon. Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda  lauded Maikaya benevolence towards changing people’s lives using his development foundation which he described as a worthy son ambassador of peace and development.

The council boss said Maikaya efforts should not only be support but rather emulated by all leaders that wish to succeed.

He commended the participants and urged them to make use of the experienced garner during the tournament.

Other speakers who don’t want their names in print stated that Maikaya remained the future leader having shown capacity and commitment to the welfare of his people and beyond. Adding that his legacies are all spread across the state ranging from educational support program, sport, youth and women development among others.

The event ended with prizes presentation to the overall winner and other positions respectively.

The event brought people from far and near include the following; the leadership of YAN ably led by Shuaibu Sani, supported by Jaafar Muhammed Loko, NYCN Toto LG Chapters, youths, women folks, security agencies and among others.

Engineer Sule commissions remodeled Nasarawa Governor’s lodge in Asokoro

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, has commissioned the remodeled Nasarawa Governor’s Lodge, in Asokoro, Abuja.

Commissioning the massive edifice during a brief ceremony, Engineer Sule, emphasized that the structure is not just for the use of the Governor of the state, but the entire people of Nasarawa State, urging stakeholders to utilize the facility to showcase the state.

“This place is actually not a Governor’s Lodge but for the people of Nasarawa State. Any time you have the opportunity to invite investors, partners coming to see Nasarawa State, please feel to come here and have your first meeting with them.

“This will show them that we are serious in the state,” the Governor said.

Engineer Sule commended the immediate past administration of Senator Umaru Tanko Al-makura, for upgrading both the Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, as well as converting the Nasarawa State Liaison Office in to a hotel.

According to the Governor, on his assumption of office, his administration leased out the hotel built by the former governor to an investors at the rate of N100m per annum.

“Instead of using, we leased out the hotel at the rate of N100m annually to an investors. We took the money for two years and invested the N200m to remodel the Governor’s Lodge,” he explained.

On his part, Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Liaison Office, Hon. Yusuf Maianguwa, said the state government lodge before the coming of the present administration was an eyesore.

While commending the administration of Engineer Sule for remodelling the lodge, the SSA however appealed for government to conduct meetings and other official engagements at the newly commissioned lodge.

Prominent sons and daughters of the state, including the Minister of State for Science and Technology, Barrister Muhammad Abdullahi Hassan, member Federal House of Representative, Hon. Abdulmumini Ari, Director General A. A Sule Campaign Organization, Senator John Damboyi, two former deputy governors namely Senator Solomon Ewuga and Chief Micheal Abdul.

Pastor Ize-Iyamu’s NDDC Chairmanship Ambition Causing Disunity In Edo APC Family

The embattled 2020 Edo APC Guber candidate, Pastor Osagie ize Iyamu is facing another fresh challenges that may set the party in the state on fire over his quest to get the chairmanship of the NDDC board.

In a move considered by many in the APC as wicked and greedy, the embattled Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is supporting and sponsoring one of the internally displaced Politicians in Edo State, Barr. Washington Osifo to sue the Attorney Seneral, the Senate, the minister of the Niger delta, the NDDC and the Sole Administrator.

In the originating summons, filed at the Federal High Court Benin Division , Barr Washington Osifo is asking the court to sack the nddc management board as presently constituted, to pave the way for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu is pushing to be announced as the chairman of the board.

A section of the APC party Faithfuls are warming up for war with the Guber candidate, they are of the opinion that pastor Osagie ize Iyamu brought political misfortune upon the party and that he has lost his political capital because he even lost his local government, senatorial district and the state to the PDP.

Kogi New FERMA Boss Promises to Live up to Expectations, Calls for Cooperation of Staff for Optimal Performance

The New Head of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) in Kogi State, Engineer Ilyasu Kabiru says due attention will be given to the maintenance of Federal roads across Kogi State.

Engineer Kabiru gave the assurance in an interview with in his Office in Lokoja.

He said more attention will be given to monitoring of Federal Roads across the State to enable the Agency know the conditions of the roads and channel reports to appropriate quarters for rapid response.

“We have three categories of maintenance – Proactive, routine and periodic maintenance. For us to achieve our mandate, our approach will be more of proactive. My first priority now is to mandate all my engineers and technical officers to go round all federal roads across Kogi State in order to get the present condition of the roads, identify areas that requires urgent attention, we prepare proposals and send to our Head Office for management’s approval to enable us undergo proactive maintenance work”

Engineer Kabiru pointed out that cooperation of staff of the Agency was necessary at executing plans, stressing that he will ensure a condusive working environment with all staff.

“I am not new in Kogi Field Office. I was here for several years as an engineer and I worked under seven to eight FRME’s so, I know virtually all the staff to certain extent and they know my stance and my character and they have also assured me of their optimum cooperation upon my assumption of Office. We will be doing great works together as a team”

The Kogi State FERMA Boss commended the Managing Director of FERMA, Engr. Nurudeen Rafindadi for giving him the opportunity to serve as the Head of the Agency in Kogi State, pointing out that he will live up to expectations.
