Kogi LG Polls: Barr. Tanko Osuku Expresses Confidence In People’s Support To Emerge Victorious

Immediate past administrator of Kogi, Kotonkarfe Local Government Area and hopeful chairmanship flag bearer under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Hon. Alhaji (Barr.) Muhammed Tanko Musa, has expressed confidence in the support from electorates and consultations made so far to emerge winner ahead of the Local Government election slated for yet to announce date.

Barr. Tanko made the assertion while addressing his supporters from Omoko community at his resident in Lokoja, the state capital, where he said there is no cause for alarm because he has the confidence that he would be announced the winner in view of his unprecedented records while serving as Administrator.

According to him, being in office for some times he has already garner the needed experienced that would propel to future challenge.

He maintained that there is no doubt about his pedigree and integrity based on his vast experience and knowledge about the Koton-Karfe political terrain, saying he is more advantageous compared to other aspirants in the race to emerge winner when the times finally comes.

He said: “I am in the advantaged position I just left office and I have been in this game for some time.

“As part my commitment to drive this process “I have taken advice, counsel, and admonishment and I have taken enough to embark on another fresh political sojourn. Let me even prophetically tell you that I am the next chairman of Kogi LG by the grace of Allah (SWA)”.

He also advised his supporters to be law abiding in their peaceful process of seeking for support on his behalf, while thanking them for a job well done urge them to keep it up the struggle.

On their part, the Omoko community delegation ably led by Hon. Adamu Yusuf Ohimoko said they were In his office to congratulate him on his successful tenure and as the leading candidate to win the forthcoming council poll.

Ohimoko, described Barr. Tanko as emancipator with large heart of accommodating all irrespective of tribes, religion and political affiliation noting that the man has done credibly well in all areas such as, security, agriculture, infrastructure, human capital development, youths and women empowerment among others.

Ohimoko, also told the former Administrator that their leaders comprise of elders, women and youths across all the nook and crannies of the community have resolved to throw their weight behind the former Administrator.

Commending the former Administrator, the delegation Said they’re all living witnesses to all his good works and urge him to replicate same to their community when he return back to the council as elected executive Chairman. He stated.

Nasarawa Assembly Assures Executive Arm Of Effective Partnership, Enhance Economy, Security, Development

Rt. Hon. Speaker NSHA, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has reiterated its commitment towards collaborating with the executive arm of government for an effective working relationship with aimed of boosting economy, protect the lives and property of the people, as well enhance development in the state.

Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House gave the assurance on Wednesday  in Lafia while making a remark during The summit of Arms with the theme ” Examining the role of the Arms of Government on the Security and Economy of Nasarawa State” organised by the state government.

He said that good working relationship between the arms of government would not only boost economy but would also ensure peace and security of the state.

” I am indeed grateful to His Excellency for his kind invitation to me and other members.

” As the primary objective of government is to protect the lives and property as well as the welfare of its citizens.

” We will partner and collaborate with the executive arm in order to boost economy and security of the state,” he said.

He said that the House would continue to make good laws for the peace, security and order for the development of the state.

” The House has been mandated by the constitution  to embark on oversight function as this current Assembly was inaugurated on 10th of June, 2019.

” I want to clarify some issues, the first issue is the issue of the former SSG, the issue came up as a result of the  oversight function embarked upon by the Education Committee. The former SSG was invited, he appeared  and the House took its decision after thorough investigation on the allegation levelled  against him.

” The second issue is that of  the Chairman of Nasarawa  Local Government, he was invited and we took our position. The Chairman apologised and we pardoned him.

” The third issue is the issue of the SSA to His Excellency on Development Control where  documents have been signed by him but when he appeared before the House, he denied it and we ask him to step aside for thorough investigation.

“I deem it fit to make some of these clarifications because people misconstrued what the assembly is doing.

” What we are doing is within the constitution and we are exercising our constitutional rights,” he said.

The speaker also disclosed that chairmen of the various House Committees would in the next two weeks embark on an oversight function to Ministries, Agencies and Departments( MDAs) in order to assess the level of the  2020 budget performance.

Nigeria @ 60: Kogi Speaker Charges Nigerians To Be Patriotic On Nation Building

The Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole has  congratulated Nigerians in general and Kogites in particular on the 60th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria as a Sovereign state and tasked Nigerians to be patriotic in building a nation that will can truly called our own

In a press statement signed and released by Chief Press Secretary, Femi Olugbemi, said the Speaker commended the efforts of the founding fathers, urged those in positions of authority to endeavour to build on the solid foundation to work in unity and have love for  the nation for the country to take its rightful position among the comity of nations.

He emphasized on the need for Nigerians to truly defend the unity and uphold the sanctity of the nation in line with their pledge of allegiance to the country by being patriotic in all their dealings.

He appealed to Nigerians to keep hope alive despite the numerous challenges that are confronting the nation at the moment especially in the area of security, infrastructure deficit and the current global pandemic of coronavirus, stressing that, with unity of purpose those challenges will be overcome.

Speaker Kolawole enjoined the younger generation who are the leaders of tomorrow to shun every negative tendencies and cultivate virtues of patriotism, commitment and dedication in serving the country diligently.

He congratulated President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Yahaya Bello, for their purposeful leadership at improving the living standards of Nigerians despite numerous challenges facing the nation.

He noted that despite the dwindling resources occasioned by the fall of the nation major sources of revenue, coupled with outbreak of coronavirus early this year the administrations at both the national and state still have some credit in the area of Education, health, security, infrastructures like the rail, roads and many transformation in critical sectors of the nation economy.

The Speaker assured that the 7th Assembly of the Kogi State House  of Assembly would continue to work in collaboration with other arms of government for the common good of the state and advised citizens to remain steadfast and courageous to  overcome adversity as a People.

Nigeria At 60: Gov Obaseki Salutes Edo Citizens, Nigerians

As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our great nation Nigeria, I salute all Edo citizens and Nigerians, who have continued to work towards actualizing the vision of a truly great and prosperous country.

I also rejoice with the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, on this auspicious occasion.

Despite our travails and challenges as a country, we give thanks to Almighty God for preserving us as a people and ensuring that the labour of our heroes past has not been in vain.

The just concluded governorship poll in Edo State is evidence of the commitment of the government and people to the deepening of our democracy, which invariably is the instrument for the upliftment of our people and improving our collective wellbeing.
