Gov Yahaya Bello

“We wish to also use the opportunity to thank you for appointing our own Son, Barr. Abdulsalam Ozigi Momodu as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and other political Appointees in our domain.”

“Your Excellency, under your watch, Okehi Local Government has recorded tremendous achievements and equal distribution of appointment and elective positions, we must commend you and your Team for standing tall to bring the needed changes we truly deserve in Okehi Local Government.”

The development as result of the Governor purposeful leadership has given room for equal distribution of political appointment and elective positions.

According to the group, Okehi LG could now witnessed peaceful coexistence, unity of purpose and development among others.

The group also draw the Governor attention to an unending and unnecessary issue been raised by neophytes who lack history of Okehi Local Government.

Emphasize that, Okehi Local Government consists of two major districts, Eika and Ihima, this two districts have mutual and conventional arrangements in the distribution of both elective positions in Okehi Local Government for harmonious existence.

From 1991 till date, Ihima axis has ruled Okehi Local Government 12 consecutive times, either being Administrator, Caretaker, Liaison officer or Executive Chairman while Eika district was 7 times only. Details are attached.

On Caretakers or Administrators, Ihima district has produced 8 caretakers who spent 6 years and 3 months. While Eika district produced only 4 who have held sway for only 4 years and 6 months. Details are attached.

“Your Excellency Sir, we need to educate most of the youths who refused to deepen their knowledge on history for posterity sake, your Excellency as at 1st March 1994, an Ihima indigene was appointed as Caretaker for two years one months followed by Hon. Musa Adano still from Ihima also spent exactly one year as a caretaker and Chief M J Ozovehe was later elected as Executive chairman… ‘Does this qualify Eika district as Slaves or hapless as at the time of this injustice’?.

“Sir, under your leadership today, you have sworn oath to protect the interest of all and as an umbrella under All Progressives Congress in Okehi Local Government, we wish to commend your steadfastness in fairness and equity.

In memorial, we had never rotated the position of Caretaker or Administrator. All we do rotate is k the position of Executive Chairman and other Elective positions.

“The last Executive Chairman of Okehi Local Government is Hon. Hassan Yusuf Okwenyete, after his tenure no one has succeeded him till date, therefore, it’s time to elect an Executive Chairman from Eika District for the sake of fairness and justice.”

For equity, fairness and Justice, from June 2015 to April 2016 Ihima district had produced the then Executive chairman Hon Yusuf Okwenyete and House of Assembly Member, Hon. Abdulkareem Kekere Sanni in the same district.

History is one of the pillars of good education, in 2007 to 2011 Ihima district had the Deputy Governor, Mr Philip Salawu; the House of Representatives Member was Hon. A. K saliu; House of Assembly from Okehi was Hon. Idris Jatto still from Ihima and Chief MJ Ozovehe as Permanent Member, Local Government Service Commission leaving Eika district with only Executive Chairman. Could this be called injustice or fairness?

O.A.C.D, a United family of APC whose mandate stands for fairness, equity and Justice wish to categorically apologise to the whole entire Okehi Citizens for the misleading article from faceless group. Specifically, we are appealing to the people of Eika district to be calm and choose who is to be elected as the next executive Chairman of Okehi LGA.
