Nigeria @ 60: Team Ramatu Pledges To Develop Tourism Sector To A World Standard In Abuja.

A Press Statement duly signed and issue by Austine Elemue, Special Assistant on Media to FCT Minister of State said as part of activities to mark this 60th Independence Anniversary of Nigeria, a group under the aegis of Team Ramatu has promised to develop the tourism sector in the Federal Capital Territory aimed at lifting Nigerians out of poverty and job creation.

The group disclose during a picnic organised in her honour to mark Nigeria Independence Day anniversary at Crushed site Mpape, FCT, Abuja, noted that the event was a demonstration of their unalloyed support for FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, in the development of the tourism sector.

Speaking at the event, one of the organisers of the group and Senior Legislative Aide to Senate President, Hajiya Hadiza Mohamed Kabir, said the choice of the venue was to assess the tourism potential of Mpape Crushed site, and to support the Federal Capital Territory Administration to develop the site to a global tourism hub in the country.

According to her, “we are here not just to catch fun to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Nigeria, but also to demonstrate our loyalty and support the FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu in the development of the tourism sector.

“We have heard so much about the Mpape Crushed site, and we have decided to come on assessment visit to see things for ourselves”.

“It might interest you to know that we did not come here alone, we came with a reputable tourism and estate developer, Tayan Group, who have indicated interest to partner with the FCT Administration in the areas of affordable housing and tourism development in the territory”.

“The group has assured us that if given the opportunity, they are ready to develop this site to a global standard. Therefore, for us in Team Ramatu, our support goes beyond politics. We are in for serious business in the development of not just the territory, but the country at large”.

Earlier in his remarks, the Managing Director of Tayan Group, an Estate Developer, Mr. Tola Ayanlola, assured the group of the company’s readiness to develop the Mpape Crushed site to a global tourism site if given the opportunity.

Ayanlola, further assured that the firm has the competence and financial capability to transform the site to an avenue of revenue generation and job creation in line with the vision of President Muhammadu Buhari administration.

While thanking the Team Ramatu for looking into the tourism sector, he said with the technical no-how of their international partners in United Arabs Emirate, the Mpape Crushed site would be a reference point in the tourism sub-sector in Nigeria

Hoodlums Invade Abuja Warehouses, Loot Food Items In Presence Of Security

Global Times Nigeria reports that hundreds of hoodlums, on Sunday, invaded the Idu Industrial Layout in Abuja, raiding several warehouses.

A source who confirmed the development said the hoodlums made away with bags of rice, cartons of tin tomatoes, cereals, milk, bails of Ankara materials, and other items.

It was observed that despite the presence of policemen, the defiant mob continued to plunder warehouses.

The hoodlums were seen loading tricycles and motorcycles with the stolen goods as policemen fired teargas.

Palliatives Discovered In Warehouses Across The Nation Evidence President Buhari Isn’t Nigeria’s Problem — Buhari’s Daughter, Zahra Indimi

Zahra Buhari Indimi, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari had on late Saturday reposted a short note on Instastories, saying the discovery of food items and other COVID-19 palliatives in several warehouses across the country is evidence that her father is not Nigeria’s problem.

“Now that people confirmed that Buhari distributed enough palliatives nationwide, it is clear Buhari is not our problem,” she wrote.

It is reported across the nation that angry youths have been plundering warehouses in Lagos, Plateau, Osun, Kogi, Kaduna, Ekiti, and Kwara in the wake of the #EndSARS protests to discover some COVID-19 palliatives still undistributed.

In some instances, COVID-19 palliatives donated by the private sector-led Coalition Against COVID-19 were found in private homes of politicians.

Some of the items include cartons of noodles, sacks of garri, and bags of rice, some of which had gone bad due to poor and prolonged storage.

In Osun State, the government said it was waiting for officials from Abuja to “commission” the goods hence the delay in distributing them while in Lagos, the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly Sanai Agunbiade said he kept the palliatives in his Ikorodu home because he wanted to distribute them on his birthday.

In Kogi State, the Governor has order for Immediate distribution of items to the most vulnerable people across the State.

Several high-profile individuals such as Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and Tony Elumelu had donated billions of naira in cash and food items to assist federal and state governments in helping vulnerable families amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

KDSG Imposes Curfew In Parts Of Chikun, Kaduna South LGAs

The Kaduna State Government has declared 24 hour curfew in some communities in Kaduna South and Chikun Local Government areas, effective immediately.

In a statement on Saturday signed and issue by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, said the areas are Barnawa, Kakuri, and Television in Kaduna South Local Government Area and Maraban Rido, Sabon Tasha, Narayi and Ungwan Romi of Chikun Local Government Area.

Security agencies have been directed to arrest and prosecute any found violating the curfew and those responsible for breakdown of law and order. Security agencies have further been directed to effect the arrest and prosecution of anyone found looting and destroying properties.
