Nasarawa Assembly Receives Another 8 Executive Bills  From Gov. Sule.

The Nasarawa  State House of Assembly has received another eight executive bills from Gov. Abdullahi Sule  for consideration and passage for the overall development of the state.

Rt.Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the House received the bills after Hon. Tanko Tunga, the Majority Leader of the House  presented the 8 bills on behalf of the governor  during the House proceedings  in Lafia today.

The speaker said that the eight  bills scaled first reading.

The speaker said, ” I slate 9th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of A Bill for a Law for the Establishment  of the Nasarawa State Infrastructure Maintenance and Haulage Fee and Other Matters Connected Thereto.

He also slated 10th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of a  Bill for a Law to Amend the Nasarawa State Law for the Establishment,  Structure, Composition ,Finance and Functions of Local Government System in Nasarawa State 2018 and Other Matters Connected Thereto.

He announced that A bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State  Waste Management and Sanitation Authority ( NASWAMSA ) and for other Connected Matters will be read for the second time on 11th Nov. 2020.

” I slate 16th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State  Emergency Management Agency and for Other Matters Releated Thereto.

” I slate 17th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of A Bill for a Law to Establish the Nasarawa State Motor Vehicle Administration and Traffic Management Agency and Other Matters Related Thereto.

The speaker announced  18th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of A bill for a Law to Regulate the Operation of Commercial Motor Cylces and Tricycles and Other Related Matters in Nasarawa State.

” Finally I slate 23rd Nov. 2020 for the second reading of a bill for a Law to Establish Nasarawa State Sports Development Fund and for Other Matters Connected Therewith .

Balarabe Abdullahi  further slated 24th Nov. 2020 for the second reading of A bill for a Law to Provide for the Levying and Collection of Radio and Television License Rate in Nasarawa State, Regulate the Administration of the Radio and Televison Licence Rates and  for Connected Purposes

Earlier,Hon. Tunga (APC-Awe North), the Majority Leader of the House moved a motion for the first reading of the 8 executive bills.

Hon. Danladi Jatau (PDP- Kokona West ) the Minority Leader of the House seconded the motion for the bills to scale first reading.

The House unanimously allowed the eight  executive bills scaled first reading.

It would be recalled that on Oct. 6, 2020 Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has presented 7 executive  Bills  to the state House of Assembly for consideration and passage in order to fast track development in the state.

Hoodlums Invade Abuja Warehouses, Loot Food Items In Presence Of Security

Global Times Nigeria reports that hundreds of hoodlums, on Sunday, invaded the Idu Industrial Layout in Abuja, raiding several warehouses.

A source who confirmed the development said the hoodlums made away with bags of rice, cartons of tin tomatoes, cereals, milk, bails of Ankara materials, and other items.

It was observed that despite the presence of policemen, the defiant mob continued to plunder warehouses.

The hoodlums were seen loading tricycles and motorcycles with the stolen goods as policemen fired teargas.

Palliatives Discovered In Warehouses Across The Nation Evidence President Buhari Isn’t Nigeria’s Problem — Buhari’s Daughter, Zahra Indimi

Zahra Buhari Indimi, daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari had on late Saturday reposted a short note on Instastories, saying the discovery of food items and other COVID-19 palliatives in several warehouses across the country is evidence that her father is not Nigeria’s problem.

“Now that people confirmed that Buhari distributed enough palliatives nationwide, it is clear Buhari is not our problem,” she wrote.

It is reported across the nation that angry youths have been plundering warehouses in Lagos, Plateau, Osun, Kogi, Kaduna, Ekiti, and Kwara in the wake of the #EndSARS protests to discover some COVID-19 palliatives still undistributed.

In some instances, COVID-19 palliatives donated by the private sector-led Coalition Against COVID-19 were found in private homes of politicians.

Some of the items include cartons of noodles, sacks of garri, and bags of rice, some of which had gone bad due to poor and prolonged storage.

In Osun State, the government said it was waiting for officials from Abuja to “commission” the goods hence the delay in distributing them while in Lagos, the Majority Leader of the House of Assembly Sanai Agunbiade said he kept the palliatives in his Ikorodu home because he wanted to distribute them on his birthday.

In Kogi State, the Governor has order for Immediate distribution of items to the most vulnerable people across the State.

Several high-profile individuals such as Aliko Dangote, Femi Otedola and Tony Elumelu had donated billions of naira in cash and food items to assist federal and state governments in helping vulnerable families amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

KDSG Imposes Curfew In Parts Of Chikun, Kaduna South LGAs

The Kaduna State Government has declared 24 hour curfew in some communities in Kaduna South and Chikun Local Government areas, effective immediately.

In a statement on Saturday signed and issue by Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, said the areas are Barnawa, Kakuri, and Television in Kaduna South Local Government Area and Maraban Rido, Sabon Tasha, Narayi and Ungwan Romi of Chikun Local Government Area.

Security agencies have been directed to arrest and prosecute any found violating the curfew and those responsible for breakdown of law and order. Security agencies have further been directed to effect the arrest and prosecution of anyone found looting and destroying properties.

KDSG strongly condemns the concerted incitement being done on social media. The government appeals to all our communities to reject incitement and resist the attempt to create chaos and anarchy.
