Covid-19: Influencer Who Said Virus ‘Does Not Exist’ Dies After Contracting Coronavirus On A Trip To Turkey

Reports says Fitness Coach Dmitriy Stuzhuk, aged just 33, who warned his one million social media followers that Covid-19 “is not a short-lived disease” before his condition rapidly deteriorated

A fitness coach and social media influencer “who thought Covid19 does not exist” has died after contracting coronavirus on a trip to Turkey.

Dmitriy Stuzhuk, aged just 33, had been discharged from hospital in his native Ukraine but was rushed back just hours later and his condition rapidly deteriorated.

After becoming ill, he wrote to his fans: “I want to share how I got sick and to strongly warn everyone.

“I was one who thought that Covid does not exist. Until I got sick.”

He told them: “COVID-19 IS NOT A SHORT-LIVED DISEASE! And it is heavy.”

To his one million followers on social media, he appeared to be in perfect health as he promoted sports and healthy living.

Nasarawa Assembly Supports NAPHDA for Grassroots Healthcare Delivery.

Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health has assured the State Primary Health Care Development Agency of full support to enable it provide effective healthcare to the people at the grassroots.

Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa, Chairman House Committee on Health and Member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency stated this during an oversight visit to Nasarawa State Primary Health Care Development Agency (NAPHCDA), Thursday.

Shafa said, the Executive Bill on the agency currently before the house if finally passed into law will help in improving quality health care services delivery in the state especially among rural dwellers.

While at the PHC facility in Kwandare as part of the oversight, Shafa expressed satisfaction with the level of infrastructural development and appreciated the Agency for performing credibly well in 2020 budget.

The committee members congratulated the Executive Chairman for his reappointment by the Governor for another term of three years in office with a called on him to consolidate on his previous achievement.

Earlier, Executive Chairman of the Agency, Dr.Muhammed Usman Adis commended members for their intervention in providing infrastructures at PHC facilities at the various constituencies in the state and appealed for more collaboration towards enhancing quality health care services.

He decried the poor patronage of PHC facilities at rural areas and called on members to help in sensitizing their people on the need to access the available services at the facilities.

He disclosed that the Agency is planning to establish a community radio that will be use to educate the people on health care services.

In a related development the committee visited School of Nursing and Midwifery, Lafia where the Chairman tasked the management to plan ahead for the smooth commencement of the school as College if the bill for the upgrade of the school is finally pass by the assembly and ascent by the Governor.

He advised the school to always keep their records in tact for easy accessibility.

Principal of the school, Sardauna Solomon appreciated the committee for the visit and promised to work on all the advice from members.

He lamented that the outbreak of covid-19 has seriously affected the activities of the school and expressed satisfaction with the support and contributions of members that led to the realisation of the Executive Bill seeking the upgrade of the school to college.

He appealed for more support from the assembly in order to uplift the standard of the school to compete favourably with other institutions in the country.

Nasarawa Assembly Lauds Sule For Massive Investment In Health Sector.

Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has applauded Gov. Abdullahi Sule for the ongoing massive renovation, reconstruction and upgrade of facilities at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH) Lafia, the State capital.

Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, Chairman, House Committee on Health and member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency gave the commendation when he led members of the committee on an oversight visit to DASH on Wednesday in Lafia.

Labaran-Shafa equally commended the staff and management of the hospital for living up to expectations.

He said, the success wouldn’t have been achieved without the support and cooperation of the management and staff who have put their best in service to humanity and the state.

The chairman said the committee is working in synergy with the hospital towards providing quality health care services to the people, adding that the committee would continue to give the management of the hospital the necessary support its deserved.

Earlier, the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Dr Hassan Ikrama commended the Governor, Assembly Members, Private and  Development partners for providing  support to the hospital.

He added that their role  towards the general development of the hospital cannot be under estimated.

The CMD appealed to members not to relent in their efforts in assisting the hospital to continue to provide effective services to the people.

Dr Ikrama conducted members of the committee round the renovated, constructed and upgraded facilities.

The facilities visited includes, National Health Insurance Scheme Pharmacy and Clinic, car park, laborstory reception, surgical ward, medical ward, central pharmacy, eye clinic, board room and casualty theatre.

He disclosed that some of  the projects were sponsored by  the hospital, some by the state while some by the development partners like saving one million lives.

Similarly, the committee paid similar visit to Hospital Management Board (HMB) Lafia and the chairman expressed satisfaction with the level of performance by the board in spite of the devastating effect of COVID-19 on its activities.

He encouraged the board to put more efforts to overcome challenges facing the board.

Speaking earlier,Dr George Usman Dangana the CMD of the board appreciated the assembly for working on a bill that would strengthening the activities of the board,

He appealed for more collaboration with the assembly to continue to serve the people better.

Nasarawa Assembly, NSG Partners To Boost Manpower On Health Development

Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health, has assured the state government of effective collaboration in order to boost health man power development for effective service delivery and the overall development of the state.

Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon. Usman Labaran Shafa and member representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency made this known when he led other members of the committee on an oversight visit to the College of Health, Science and Technology, Keffi on  Monday.

Labaran Shafa said that effective synergy with the state government would not only boost man power development but would also address the health challenges being faced by the people in the state.

“We will ensure effective partnership for man power development and to ensure efficient and quality healthcare services delivery in the state, ” he said.

He said that the oversight function was to evaluate the performance of the College’s 2020 budget and to identify area of intervention ahead of the presentation of 2021 budget.

“The visit is to get first hand information on the 2020 budget performance of the college.

” As this will assist the committee on how to work on the 2021 budget when presented by His Excellency Engineer A A Sule,” he said.

Labaran Shafa  commended the management of the college for its effort towards repositioning the school to compete favourably with other similar institutions in the country.

The chairman advised the management of the institution to take issue of staff welfare with all seriousness it deserves in order to boost productivity.

He congratulated the management and staff of the college for the upgrade of the school from College of Health to College of Health, Science and Technology, Keffi.

Earlier,  the Provost of the College, Suleiman Muhammad appreciated Gov. Abdullahi Sule and members of the state legislature for giving adequate attention to the institution and called for its sustenance.

He expressed satisfaction the governor has approved the relocation of the college to a more befitting place,noting that if such is done it will go a long way in giving the institution more lifeline.

He however,  enumerated challenges of the college to include shortage of  man power, inadequate funding, operational vehicles and laboratory equipment among others.

It would be reported that members were conducted round the Girls Child Community Center that was constructed by the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board and handed over to the college for use.
