Nasarawa Speaker’s Constituency Honours Him, Gov. Sule With Awards Of Excellence.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State and Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the state legislature, have bagged an awards of excellence from an  Umbrella body of youths in Umaisha Development Area of Toto LG. “Umaisha Political Central Association” ( UPCA).

The Umaisha Political Central Association, UPCA President, Comrade Ibrahim Yunusa Karika while honouring the Governor, Speaker and Two others said that their awards was based on their qualities leadership styles.

Comrade Yunusa Karika said that Gov. Sule has done his best in the area of infrastructural development, peace promotion among others.

” Today, we are honouring His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule with an award of Excellence as Ambassador of peace and Justice.

” While our Rt. Hon. Speaker of the state legislature, RT.Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi  as the Best Man/leader of the  year award of Excellence.

” We UPCA comprised of all youths in Umaisha Development Area are proud of Gov. Abdullahi Sule and RT. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi leadership styles, hence the need of the awards, ” he said.

The UPCA President assured the Governor and the Speaker of their unalloyed support and prayers to enable them succeed.

Speaking, Alhaji Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Speaker of the state legislature who received his award and that of the Governor appreciated the youths of the area  for the awards and assured them of his continued determination to bring speedy development and peace to the area and the state at large.

” I want to assure you that I will personally present His Excellency’s award to him in Government House, Lafia. I will brief him on what happened here accordingly,I am highly overwhelmed.

“You took me by surprised,I am short of words,and today I most tell you is one of the happiest moments in my life.

” On my part, you are aware of what I have done towards impacting on your lives positively.

” As a leader, I welcome criticism but let’s it be positive and constructive criticism as I know that I have touched and still touching on your lives through my various projects and programmes.

” I cannot solve the problems of all of you at once, let’s continue to be patient in order to enjoy the much needed dividends of democracy.

” I want to advise you to embrace education as it is the bed rock of every society.

” Secondly I want to appeal to you to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and your parents and elders for you to prosper in life and for development to thrive.

” Finally I appeal to you to continue to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration and you should also continue to pray for him at all times to succeed,he is a man of honour,integrity,honesty and a leader that sleeps and wake with his people at heart, the Speaker described Gov.Sule.

The speaker also called on the people of the area and the state at large to live in peace and tolerate one another as well as support the Governor to succeed.

The Ohimege Opanda, Alh Usman Abdullahi was awarded as a Dynamic Leader, considering his contributions to peace and development of the area.

In their separate remarks, Prince Nuhu Adamu Dauda,Chairman Toto LG,who got the award of LG peace maker and and Hon Yusuf Omaki former Commissioner in the state appreciated the youths for organizing the event which they described as timely and reflective.

They have described youths as back borne of every society  while restating their commitments to support the activities of the youths in the area.

The duo also lauded the leadership styles of Gov. Sule and Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi toward ensuring peace and development  across the state.

The Relationship expert in her words gotten from Instagram said, “I remember when my mum used to struggle while I was a young girl, and at some point, all that she had got burnt and vanished away and I vowed as a young girl that I won’t struggle like my mom, which made me rush into marriage because I thought it was the only short cut I had to end the sufferings I have gone through.”

Following ongoing strike by the primary school teachers if the Local Education Authority (LEA) over non payment of their promotion arrears and other entitlements, Senator Philip Aduda, on Saturday, met with the state executives of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) in Abuja.

Aduda, while addressing the NUT executives, described the warning strike as unfortunate, in which he assured the union that he will meet with the relevant stakeholders in order to find a common ground for the benefit of the parents and pupils.

“And it was on this premise that I want to assure the union that I shall meet with the stakeholders across the area councils level in order to ensure that your demands are met so that our children can go back to school,”he said.

Responding, the chairman of the NUT in FCT, Comrade Stephen Knabayi, appreciated Senator Aduda for his intervention, saying the union will be eager to get positive response from the stakeholders so that primary school teachers can return to their classes.

Our correspondent had reported that, the NUT FCT had embarked on a five days warning strike, which elapsed last Wednesday, but the union had asked the secondary school teachers to return to classes and directed the primary school teachers to continue with the strike until their promotion arrears are paid by the council chairmen.

The Northern Youths Movement (NYM) has demanded for an independent probe of the controversies over the N19. 33 billion Kogi salary bailout funds the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, claimed  it recovered to the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN.

Rising from its meeting in Abuja on Saturday, the NYM also chided the EFCC over what they called unending regime of media trial and unconstitutional actions.

It said it was imperative for a panel comprising representatives of the CBN, Sterling Bank, Federal Ministry of Finance, Accountant General of the Federation, Kogi State Government, EFCC, Police Special Fraud Unit, Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and Civil Society Organizations to be set up to investigate the matter.

EFCC had said that it returned the N19. 33 billion Kogi State Government kept N19.33 billion bailout fund meant to pay salaries in Sterling Bank meant to yield interest and that the money was recovered to the CBN.

However, the Kogi State Government, which insisted that it did not open or create the said account with Sterling Bank, demanded from the EFCC, an apology and retraction of  the commission’s statement.

In a release issued in Abuja on Saturday, which was signed by its Chairman, Mallam Ishaya Jato, the NYM also carpeted the EFCC for placing Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State under watchlist, saying that the commission’s action constitutes a clear affront on the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The youths said it was time the EFCC begins to act within the ambit of the laws of Nigeria and  stop jumping to the media space, acting like a political tool.

The NYM wondered why no one has been put on trial if truly the EFCC claim on the alleged N19.33 billion fund was true.

They asked if in saner climes, a whooping sum of N19.33 billion bailout fund meant to pay workers salaries will be discovered to have been kept in a commercial bank account meant to yield interest and no one will be prosecuted.

The youths said questions as to where is the mandate letter from the Kogi State Government to open account number 0073572696 with Sterling Bank and who operated the account need to be answered.
