Hon. Labaran Shafa, NSCDC Boss Bags Laminga Development Foundation’s Awards Of Excellence.
With an ward of excellence conferred on member representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and NSCDC Boss, the Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi A. Sule and Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Ibrahim Balarabe has congratulated the recipients for the honour done them by the Laminga Development Foundation.
Global Times Nigeria has learnt that the Laminga Development Foundation ( LDF) has honoured two of its members, Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Commandant General, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) and Hon Usman Labaran Shafa, member representing Toto/ Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly with awards of excellence.
Presenting the awards to the recipients, the foundation said that the honour was done due to their positive contributions to the development of the community, the state and Nigeria at large.
Prof. Suleiman Bala Mohammed the Chairman of the Foundation stated this at a reception in honour of the NSCDC boss and Hon Shafa in Laminga, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state today.
Bala Mohammed, who is the Vice Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi said that the reception was also to rejoice with the NSCDC boss and Hon Shafa over their elevations.
” We are delighted and happy with the turn out of the calibre of personalities at this event.
” We have decided to organise this event to honour two of our members for their elevations, the first is Dr Ahmed Abubakar Audi, the Commandant General, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps ( NSCDC) and Hon Labaran Usman Shafa, member representing Toto/ Gadabuke at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly.
” They have contributed a lots to the development of Laminga as they are hard working, disciplined and committed.
” Hon Shafa is not from this community but he left a good legacies when he served as a teacher and Principal l at Government Secondary School, Laminga apart from other contributions as he the Treasurer of this foundation presently,” he said.
Bala Mohammed has urged the awardees not to relent in their efforts toward contributing positively to the development of the community and Nigeria as a whole.
Also speaking, speaker of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi appreciated the foundation for given the award to one of their own, Hon Labaran Shafa and the NSCDC boss.
Balarabe Abdullahi said that the honour done to Hon Shafa was done to the entire assembly and assured of the members readiness to support all Nasarawa state citizens serving in various capacities at the National level to succeed.
In his address, Gov. Abdullahi Sule while congratulating the duo for their elevations, said that their elevations were well deserved considering their antecedents as well as positive contributions to the development of the community and the state at large.
Sule, who was represented by his Deputy, Dr Emmanuel Akabe said that the state is proud to have Dr Audi as NSCDC boss as well as to have Hon Shafa as member of the state legislature.
The governor has appreciated the citizens of the state for their support to his administration while soliciting for more support to enable him succeed.
In their separate speeches, Sen. Abdullahi Adamu, the Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Usman Ibrahim Jibril among others described Dr Audi and Hon Shafa awards as well deserved.
They have urged the people to support them to succeed.
Speaking in an interview, Hon Labaran Shafa, who holds the traditional title of Dan Moyi Laminga appreciated the foundation for the honour done to him while assuring of his continued commitment to contribute positively to the development of the community.
” I dedicates this award to the people of Toto/ Gadabuke constituency who voted me as their representative.
” I served in Government Secondary School Laminga as a tutor and a principal before my people elected me to the House.
” I want to assure my people of good representation and for Laminga community, I will continue to contribute my quota to the development of the community, ” he said.
He appreciated the speaker of the House, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, the Deputy Speaker, Hon Nehemiah Tsentse Dandaura, other members and other politicians and well wishers for gracing the occasion and wished him well.
The lawmaker, who is the Chairman, House committee on Health, has called on the people of the state to support Gov. Abdullahi Sule’s administration to succeed.
It would be reported that the governor has presented LDF plaque to the celebrants.
It would also be reported that those dignitaries that attended the occasion include Hon. Abdulmumini Ari, Hon Suleiman Wambai, Sen. Abba Moro, traditional rulers and religious leaders among other well wishers.
It will also be reported that Hon Shafa has earlier led his people to paid homage to the traditional ruler of Laminga the Sarkin Laminga Umar Adamu in his palace.

Kogi Deputy Governor At 47, Jimoh Fancy Tiamiyu Describes Him As a Quintessential Leader, God Fearing Politician With Great Source of Inspiration

As Chief David Edward Onoja, the Kogi State Deputy Governor marked his birthday, A Lokoja-based business tycoon and chieftain of All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Jimoh Fancy Tiamiyu, has described the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward Onoja as a quintessential leader and God-fearing politician who has been a great source of inspiration to many young Nigerians.
Tiamiyu in a statement issued on Monday and made available to newsmen in Lokoja, the state capital congratulated the deputy governor on the occasion of his 47th birthday, said Onoja as a loyal servant has worked assiduously and harmoniously with his boss, His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello to transform and take Kogi State to greater heights of development.
