An award of excellence has been presented to Zam Zam pharmacy beside UBA, IBB way Lokoja.
Presenting the award in Lokoja, Kogi State, the State Chairman of the Association of Kogi Youths Concern, Comrade Sumaila Kanya said the pharmacy has met all standard expected in modern world and it has been rated as one of the best in the country.
He explained that drug dispensed at the pharmacy are of quality and cheaper when compared to others who are in the business.
Mr Samaila urged the manager of the pharmacy to continue to sustain the tempo and pray for more prosperous years.
Receiving the award, the Superintendent pharmacy in charge of Zam Zam pharmacy Mr Obbinna Nganwuchu expressed appreciation to the Association for recognizing their modest contributions to the society.
He promised to sustain the standard attained emphasising that the drug store deals directly with pharmaceutical companies to eradicate the menace of fake drugs.
He urged the people to always used the code available at the back of the drug packs to confirm its authenticity and as well patronize registered and certify Pharmacy.
Aliyu Kicks Off 2nd Round Polio Vaccination In FCT
FCT Minister of State, Dr. Ramatu Tijjani Aliyu, has kicked off the second round of the Administration’s outbreak response to the circulating polio virus in the Federal Capital Territory.
The minister who performed the exercise at the Area 2 Primary Healthcare Centre, Garki Abuja vaccinated two new born babies as the chief vaccinator, just as she urged mothers to take the vaccination seriously and ensure proper hygiene.
“We urge all mothers to come out and vaccinate their babies, because we want polio to be kicked out or eradicated, and we want the status to be maintained. I know mothers are the most excited people in the world especially with a new born baby. However, follow all the processes as directed by medical personnel.
“Also be reminded that the COVID-19 pandemic is not yet over, therefore keep observing all the protocols by wearing your face mask and keeping physical distancing. I am happy you are all wearing your face mask, keep doing that even in market places,” Aliyu cautioned.
The minister assured that FCT would participate in the October National Immunization Plus Days when under 5 children in the FCT and the 36 states of the federation would have another opportunity to be vaccinated with the potent novel oral polio vaccine.
Aliyu, however, commended WHO in supporting the teams with logistics, Unicef supports in advocacy, communication and social mobilization, while charging the area councils to expand the reach.
In his remarks, the Ag. Secretary of FCT Primary Health Care Board, Dr. Iwot Ndaeyo, said the first round was conducted in the 5 area councils of Abaji, Abuja Municipal, Bwari, Kuje and Kwali last month, August, 2021 and all are due for the second round in the month of September, 2021.
He also stated that the first-round report showed Abaji, Kwali and Bwari performing well and passing the end process evaluation at first test, while Abuja Municipal and Kuje area councils had to undertake mop-up exercises to meet the required coverage and eventually passed the end process test.
Senator Dr. Jibrin Isah Echocho To Partner With Kogi State Health Insurance Agency For affordable, Accessible Health Need Of The People

The Senator representing Kogi East in the National Assembly, Senator Dr Jibrin Isah Echocho has concluded an arrangement with Kogi State Health insurance Agency for the treatment of widows and orphans from his constituency.
The Senator made this known to newsmen when the Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Aledare Adekunle and other management staff of the agency paid courtesy visit to the Senator in Abuja.
The Senator who was elated with joy over the activities of the organization stated that, a lot of widows and orphans are suffering because of lack of adequate and access to health facilities as a result of death of their bread winner for the family and assured the agency that, the first stage of the treatment will commence in the month of September, 2021.
He applauded the leadership quality of the Governor for the establishment of the Agency and assured of adequate patronage for the health need of the people.
The Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Aledare Adekunle along with the programme officer, Pharm. Kennet Ameh and others thanked the Senator for believing in the agency’s dream and objectives in ensuring health care is affordable and accessible to the good people of the state and admonished other elected, appointed and well to do individuals to complement the efforts of the government.
Highlight of the visit was a group photograph and presentation of the proposal for the approval and commencement of the Agency activities in Kogi East.
Nasarawa Govt. Will Upgrade health Facilities, Carry Out Employment Of Health Workers To Give The health Sector a Lifeline – Health Commissioner Revealed
In a bid to improved and reposition health system for effective service delivery in the State, Pharm. Ahmed Baba Yahaya, the Nasarawa State Commissioner for Health said the state government will review upward overhead cost of government agencies and parastatals under the ministry for effective service delivery.
Baba Yahaya made this known when he led other management team of the ministry before the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health on 2021 budget assessment.
He also revealed that the state government is upgrading health facilities and will carry out employment of health workers to give the health sector a lifeline.
The Commissioner emphasized that government has also signed MoU with Professional Medical Personnels and consultants on how to carry out step down knowledge and skills at the primary and secondary healthcare facilities to boost manpower development and address other health challenges in the sector among other positive interventions.
Similarly, the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Committee on Health and the management of the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia are to enhance their partnership for effective healthcare service delivery in the state.
This was part of the outcome of the resolution reached when the Chief Medical Director of Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital, Dr Ikramah Hassan met with the Chairman, House Committee on Health, Hon Usman Labaran Shafa for the Hospital’s 2021 budget assessment at the Assembly complex in Lafia today.
Hon Shafa commended the management of DASH for being up and doing in its activities and enjoined them to redouble effort to achieve more results as one of the outstanding tertiary health establishments that the state is depending on.
The health committee Chairman said the House is committed in supporting the hospital and the government to get the best from the health establishment for the overall benefit of the people of the state.
On his part, Dr Ikramah Hassan, the CMD of DASH, who lamented how strike by health workers, especially doctors is seriously affecting their activities said the state is working out ways to address reoccurring strike issues and emerging challenges Internally.
He explained in details the hospital budget performance, its success areas and emerging challenges as well as areas the hospital need the House intervention.
The committee also played host to the management of Nasarawa State Health Insurance Scheme on its 2021 budget assessment.
