Min. Of Women Affairs, Less Privileged Citizens, Benefit from Tazan Foundation Birthday Packages

Scores of persons with special needs, including the less privileged, other indigent members of the society and the Kogi State Ministry of Women Affairs, have benefitted from the founder of Tazan Foundation as part of activities to mark his birthday celebration.

The Foundation which visited the Ministry of Women Affairs, was received by the Acting Permanent Secretary, Mr. Eneyo Joseph Ekele who lauded the group for remembering the Ministry in it’s activities.

Mr. Ekele described Tazan, founder of the Foundation as a rare gem and a selfless citizen, who has demonstrated uncommon passion for humanitarian services by sharing the joy of his birthday celebration with the needy in the society.

Earlier, Founder of the charity group, Tazan Onimisi, reiterated the need for individuals and corporate organizations to donate generously to the destitute, orphans and dregs of the society to enable them improve their well being.

He noted that the visit has further exposed the level of attention needed by people with special needs and appealed for more assistance by other spirited individuals, corporate bodies and the government towards giving them a new lease of life.

Congratulating Tazan on his birthday, one his close associates, Ambassador Ajibodi Muniru Majeyibo said the Foundation was poised to empower people, especially the less privileged in the society.

“Tazan Foundation will remain committed to adding value to the society and I call on other well-meaning individuals to always remember others in need”

Also, another associate of Tazan Foundation, Amb Abdullahi Sheriff Abukah commended Tazan for his humane disposition to the wellbeing of the most vulnerable persons in the society.

He stated that the foundation since its inception has positively changed the lives of many vulnerable persons within and outside the state, and promised not to rest on its oars.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Yakubu Abu, expressed gratitude for the gifts and other acts of kindness by the foundation, and prayed to God to reward the donor abundantly.

Items distributed include, bags of rice, other consumables and cash donations to the benefiting homes and individuals.

Amb. Kemi Visits Suleiman – A Spinal Cord Patient, Donates Cash, Gift Items, Calls for Support to Help Suleiman Hassan Walk Again

The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) on Cultural Integration to the Governor of Kogi State, Ambassador Kemi Olawumi, has called on the people of the State to always extend hands of fellowship to others.

Ambassador Kemi made the call during her visit to a spinal cord patient, Mallam Suleiman Hassan in Lokoja as part of activities to commemorate her Birthday.

She said the visit was part of efforts to reach out to others as being taught by His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State.

The Kogi State Cultural Ambassador pointed out that there was joy in putting smiles on the faces of others, describing Mallam Suleiman as a courageous personality.

Suleiman has being my friend on social media and am seeing him for the first time face to face
“All this while that we’ve been chatting, there’s no sign that he’s facing any challenge not until one day that we discussed to such length and he opened up to me
“He’s such a courageous person and I like the manner he’s handling life situation”

She enjoined him to keep hope alive, saying “once there is life, there is hope
“Don’t allow life situation to weigh you down, keep your spirit alive, stay focused because I believe there will be a way out”

She called on well-to-do individuals, NGO’s, religious bodies, Associations amongst others, to engage more in reaching out to others, adding that an act of kindness will go a long way at rekindling hope in those facing challenges.

She also called on well meaning Kogites and Nigerians as a whole to help Suleiman walk again by contributing for his medical bills of ten million (10, 000, 000) Naira abroad.

The SSA who donated Cash and other gift items to Mallam Suleiman, prayed God to Grant him quick recovery.

 

On his part, Mallam Hassan, appreciated Amb. Kemi for the gesture, while praying God to see her through in her assignment.

Similarly, Mallam Abdullahi Hassan, who have been taking care of Mallam Suleiman since the incidence, commended Ambassador Kemi Olawumi for her show of love towards the family and prayed Allah to see her through in her assignment.

Suleiman Hassan, a native of Kogi/Koton-Karfe in Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State and a final year student of the Ahmedu Bello University (Veterinary Medicine), involved in an accident along Abuja-Lokoja Highway on the 18th of July 2013, leaving him with a spinal cord injury that has confined him to a post ever since.

Keeping to his promise of complimenting governments efforts through the State Ministry of Health in eradicating malaria across the Local Government Areas in Kogi State, Tazan Foundation recently distributed mosquito nets to Okaito Community in Okehi LG.

Founder of Tazan Foundation and the Director of Foreign Affairs and Integration, United Arab Emirate of National Youths Council of Nigeria, NYCN in Diaspora, Tazan Saahibfatiu Onimisia, in a chat with newsmen said that the foundation amidst other projects, plans to help achieve zero malaria society in the State.

According to him, the mosquito nets distributed to the habitants of Okaito, at Okehi LG, is strategic as several persons in the Community have no idea on how to protect themselves from mosquito bites which is the cause of malaria.

“Insecticides treated nets have become a core intervention for malaria control and have contributed greatly to the decline in disease incidence and malaria-related deaths

“World Health Organization WHO, statistics reveals that malaria still kills a child every two minutes, adding that no child should die because they could not access life-saving services to prevent, detect and treat the disease” he said.

He stressed that malaria has become a major public health problem, especially to those living at the grassroots and remote areas in the urban cities.

While advising the Community members to get use to using the mosquito nets, ensure to keep hygienic environment and avoid self medication, Tazan pleaded with citizens of the state to complement government efforts in all sectors of life.

He however stressed that the mosquito distribution exercise and sensitization will still continue across various Local Government Areas of Kogi State, while lauding the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for the giant strides recorded across all sectors.

One of the beneficiaries, Amoto Adeiza, thanked the Foundation for sensitizing them on how to protect themselves from mosquito bites, stressing that he and his household will make proper use of the knowledge and as well preach the knowledge to others.

Another beneficiary, Ize Ogirima, pleaded for more partnership with the Foundation to help secure more of the mosquito nets and make it a constant project as most people in the Community lacks access to such treated Musquioto nets, charging the Foundation to sustain its efforts at reaching out others, especially at the grassroots.

Still, in the mood of celebrating the thirty years anniversary of the creation of Kogi State, the Founder of Tazan Foundation and the Director of Foreign Affairs and Integration, United Arab Emirate of the National Youths Council of Nigeria, NYCN in Diaspora, Tazan Saahibfatiu Onimisia has distributed mosquito nets in a bid to help eradicate malaria in the Confluence State.

Speaking to newsmen at Gadumo, Lokoja where sets of mosquito nets were distributed to habitants of the Community, Tazan said the move was to complement government’s efforts through the Ministry of Health in the fight against malaria.

According to him, insecticides treated nets have become a core intervention for malaria control as it has contributed greatly to the decline in disease incidence and malaria-related deaths.

“Malaria has become a major public health problem, especially to those living at the grassroots and remote areas in the urban cities so, we all must rise against it, that’s why we made this move”

Tazan advised citizens of the State and those in Gadumo Community to complement government efforts and those helping out in their little way by using the mosquito nets, ensure a clean environment to prevent mosquitoes from breeding, and desist from self-medication.

The distribution and sensitization he added will continue across various locals in the state capital and local government areas while lauding the state government under the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello for his giant strides in the health sector.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Ademu Apeh, expressed joy over the show of concern from the Foundation, explaining that he has never been exposed to mosquito net usage, adding that most of the community dwellers of Gadumo are most times handicap due to porous nature of their environment.

Another beneficiary, Ayo Adewunmi while thanking the foundation for the care, noted that the only sure way of reducing the burden of malaria for now was using the insecticide-treated mosquito net.
