The 2023 House of Representatives candidacy of Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa, under the Labour Party (LP) has triggered confidence and hope in people of Ohafia/Arochukwu federal Constituency of Abia state, as the electorates in the area said he stands tall among candidates from other different political parties for the plum job tasked at providing dividends of democracy to their doorsteps and give the federal constituency, a socio-economic and Infrastructural facelifts.
It would recalled that Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa had on May emerged as the candidate for the House of Representatives seat of Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency of Abia state during a well-participated and condluded national assembly primary elections ahead of the forthcoming 2023 main elections across the state.
Hon Okwara Osonwa who doubled as an international business mogul and london-trained accounting expert, have not hidden his passion and vision to improving the welfares of the people, especially his immediate constituency (Ohafia/Arochukwu). Undisputably, Labour Party flag-bearer has continued to carry out and also get involved in schemes and programmes to encourage human, economic and Infrastructural development and empowerment.
Born on 24th of December 1974 and attended the prestigious North London College and University of North London where he graduated with two degrees in accounting and international business. It’s on Honorable Osonwa had also served as Advisory analyst with Bromley Asset Management where he actively and effectively worked in the set of the first mobile network in Nigeria (Econet). After several numbers of years in the financial sector, coupled with his unhidden passion to broaden his knowledge and competences, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa equally secured qualifications as an SAP FICO consultant, and thereafter, set up his own private consultancy providing other financial clients.
As a versatile private-sector businessman who engaged in consultancy, has foster quality advice and solutions across the sectors such as telecommunications, oil and gas, media, manufacturing, business management and construction. Before now and during his earlier sojourn into the murky water of Nigerian politics, Hon Okwara Osonwa cum international business tycoon, founded the famous People’s Grassroots Social Equality and Development, an enhancement Initiative for the Nigerian youths which has ensured the provision of large numbers of charitable donations to the society, and as well, given young citizens of this nation an equal voice on political governance in Nigeria.
Undoubtedly, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa has never hidden his passion and vision for a better welfare of the masses, and which at this current point of time, he took it upon himself to continue in rendering uncommon service to God and humanity, and had in 2021, heeded to several clarion calls and appeal from the wonderful people of Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency or extraction in Abia north Senatorial zone of Abia state.
While hinting areas of consideration when elected as member of the House of Representatives for Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency seat on the platform of the Labour Party in the coming 2023 general elections in Abia state during an interview with a cross section of journalists in Umuahia, the state capital, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa stated that his representation is anchored on effective service to the people, and consequently provide them a better quality of life.
According to him during the media interview, “i will foster policies that will truly and genuinely precipitate positive change for his constituents locally, and also those of the Nigeria federation at large as i have outlined in my developmental blueprints if given the amble opportunity to represent Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency come 2023.
Honoured with the revered traditional chieftaincy title of Oke-Abba Ohafia 1 bestowed on him by entire Ohafia Council of Chiefs in April 2022, for his tremendous and great services to the development of the ohafia community in Abia state, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa disclosed that his agendas and plans focuses on supporting schemes for the widow and aged, employment opportunities and empowerment for the youth, Infrastructural facilities development for public schools and hospital and hospital, and facilitate interest free-loan for traders in Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency.
Continuing, the frontline House of Representatives candidate, disclosed that he shall hold regular consultation cum interaction with constituents, stating also, he shall sponsor bills and make laws and other impactful legislations to encourage economic and Infrastructural development in Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency at the green chamber of the national Assembly (House of Representatives) when elected as federal parliamentarian.
Furthermore, a cross section of the constituents from the Ohafia and Arochukwu local government areas in Abia state, on Saturday, stated that the House of Representatives candidancy of Hon Ibe Okwara Osondu have elicited hope for a better developmental welfare of the people and entire federal Constituency, as they vowed that days were gone when their futures and destines are being mortgaged by those they entrusted with their mandates.
Speaking to our correspondent in an interview on Saturday in Akanu Ohafia clan in Abia north Senatorial district of Abia state, when asked to assess all candidates of various political parties set to jostle for the Arochukwu/Ohafia federal Constituency seat at the house of representatives, Abuja in the 2023 geeral elections in the state, Mr Anagha Godswill Agwu, a constituent of the area who doubled as trader, said he had taken time, and critical analysed the manifestos containing developmental plans of all candidates, and tipped Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa, the Labour Party Standard-bearer for the House of Representatives seat.
Mr Agwu hinged his position on numerous strides recorded by Osonwa especially in human empowerment and development in Ohafia/Arochukwu local areas and beyond.
According to him, “i have no doubt that Hon Okwara Osonwa will live up to our expectations, because, as a private sector businessman, he has been able to impact on the lives of our youths, men and women which had made many people that comes across him now owns business conglomerates, under Small and Medium Scale Business Enterprises scheme. Infact, time will permit me to reel out many of his laudable strides, and i am sure and confident that he shall replicates all those of his meaningful gains towards the growth and development of Ohafia/Arochukwu federal Constituency when supported to emerge as winner or next member representing the Abia extraction with our permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).
On his part, Madam Ola Felicia Umeh, who is a teacher in one of the community secondary schools at Atani Arochukwu and doubled as bonafide constituent of the Abia extraction, lamented that enough have not been done to improve on the lives of people in the area by successive occupants of the House of Representatives seat.
She opined that she shall judiciously make use of his permanent voters cards to join progressive minded Abians to change the narratives in the representatiation of the federal constituency at the national assembly towards ensuring the election of credible candidates at all levels of Public and political leadership positions in Abia state in 2023.
Mrs Umeh okayed the house of representatives candidancy of Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa under the Labour Party, as he further submitted that Osonwa had demonstrated capacities, and would use his vast wealths of experiences and competences to sponsor bills and also make laws that will have direct bearing in lives of the constituents in Ohafia and Arochukwu local government areas of Abia state if given the chance to emerge rhe next federal representative, for Ohafia/Arochukwu federal Constituency seat in the lower chamber of the National assembly come 2023.
“Osonwa has the requisite capacity and needed expertise, and as well as rich experience to interface with relevant bodies and agencies of the executive arm of government in bringing useful economic and Infrastructural projects deepen empowerment of the people, and also developement scheme Programmes, that will engage many people from Ohafia and Arochukwu local areas in Abia.
“And again, let me use this great Medium to urge all eligible citizens or Indigenes from Ohafia and Arochukwu local government areas of Abia state to cast their votes to Hon Ibe Okwara Osondu by using their PVC which is the only weapon and power vested on all qualified citizens in Nigeria to decide on the kind of leaders they desire or yearn for. I can also tell you i have my PVC, and that, i will use to vote in, Hon Ibe Okwara Osonwa of the Labour Party (LP) for the House of Representatives seat of Ohafia/Arochukwu federal constituency in the fast approaching general elections in 2023”, She concluded.
