2023 Abia Guber: Group to purchase N50m APC nomination forms for Ogah

A group of industrialists of Abia State origin in southeast Nigeria under the auspices of Rescue Abia With Ogah have finalized an arrangement to purchase fifty million naira (N50m) for the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Dr. Uche Sampson Ogah ahead of the forthcoming primaries of the party and main general election in 2023.

The Abia group hinged the gesture on their genuine desire to ensure educated industrialists steer the helms of the affairs of the state and provide to the doorsteps of the people an economically and Infrastructural stable and sound Abia for them to thrive in all facets of their livelihoods.

Mr. Wisdom Maduforo, the spokesperson of the group, in a release issued to journalists in Umuahia, the Abia capital on Monday, stated that her members have commenced financial contributions to ensure that the governorship forms are purchased this new week ahead of the primary election of the governing party in Nigeria.

He reiterated that the group is membered by successful Abia Indigenous industrialists, who had made clarion calls and several appeals on the Minister of State and Doyen of Abia Rejoice, to join the 2023 State governorship race to address the myriads of challenges impeding the socio-economic and Infrastructural development of the God’s State.

According to the mouthpiece, “it was established in 2014 as Rescue Abia Mission and later converted to Rescue Abia With Ogah by 2018, and Abia industrialists who can take up the financial implications of Uche Ogah’s election to its logical conclusion.

Maduro further reiterated its resolve and commitment to ensuring educated businessman is elected to steer the helms of affairs of Abia state, positing that Abia which stood as a commercial nerve center of the old eastern region is brought back to its full glory and as well, given an economic facelift.

In response to the numerous calls and appeals on him to contest the governorship seat of Abia State in the upcoming general election in 2023, by critical stakeholders and socio-cultural and political groups in the state and diaspora, Uche Ogah, had earlier this April, declared that he would contest the governorship seat of the State on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Recall that the Minister had announced this during a live radio phone-in program anchored in Umuahia, the state capital.

He partly stated, “I’m the face of APC in Abia State, the bride of the people in the State, and anybody can use me to sell his party, which happens all the time”.
