An Akoko-Edo PDP Stakeholders group known as Grassroot Dynamic PDP Forum, a PDP think tank based in Akoko-Edo, has endorsed Mrs Christabel Eremah Ekwu for House of Assembly representing constituency 1 in Akoko-Edo, Edo State. The group’s leader, Mr. Austin Adebayo, spoke with our correspondent from his Akoko-Edo base said the group declared their unflinching support for Mr. Christabel Eremah Ekwu because of her humanitarian activity that had touched several lives in Akoko-Edo.

“Mrs Christabel Eremah Ekwu is one of the several candidates that had shown interest for Edo State House of Assembly, constituency 1, we have given our full support to. The group is very dynamic, active and it is made up of die-hard PDP members who are also delegates. We have interrogated Mrs Christabel Eremah and we are supporting her vision for the people of constituency 1 in Akoko-Edo. She is the best woman for the job, and I think this is the right time to give the woman folk a chance to represent us as she will be able to translate that inherent motherly care to effective representation.

“Over the years, we have tried several men and even older men, and they have done their bits. We as a group believe in the younger generation who can easily connect with us, who can act as a bridge between the young and the old, men and women…and we believe Mrs Christabel Eremah who happen to be the most popular candidate for the job should be considered by the delegates.

“We have spoken with her, we are excited with her manifesto, we know the interventions she had been committed to with her foundation, Eremah Shining Light Foundation, as the president. No doubt, if voted in, she would do more.

“We are glad with her and we promise to deliver votes for the young promising woman who has come with very enterprising ideas for the teaming youth in Akoko-Edo. We are supporting her fully because she has been doing well even before election and we have volunteered without being paid to work for her.”

Our correspondent called Mrs Christabel Eremah Ekwu to ask her about her reaction towards the endorsement by this group which are also delegates, she has this to say. “This is a welcoming development and I am happy my little interventions using my foundation is not going unnoticed. I want to thank the group profoundly for its support and endorsement. I assure the group when voted in as member representing Edo State House of Assembly Constituency 1, one of my major priorities apart from empowering women is to encourage a lot of youths in the constituency to be self-reliant and to askew all forms of criminalities and violence. I promise to deliver on my mandate if voted in.”
