2023 general elections: Two-term Rep member, Sam Onuigbo joins Abia central senatorial race

The Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency of Abia State at the House of Representatives, Hon Sam Onuigbo, has joined the race for the Abia Central Senatorial district seat of Abia State in the Senate ahead of the National Assembly election in 2023, on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).

Onuigbo is currently a two-term member of the green chamber of the Nigerian National Assembly and the chairman, of the House Committee on Climate change.

Before now, he also doubled as former commissioner for Finance, and Lands in Abia state under the administration of former Governor Theodore Ahamefule Orji and Board Member of international Glass Industries, Aba.

Onuigbo will jostle for the Abia Central Senatorial district seat ticket of the All Progressive Congress in the upcoming party primaries in Abia state.

However, disclosing his intention to run for the 2023 senatorial seat elections, in a terse statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday, in Umuahia, the Abia state capital on Wednesday, Rep Sam Onuigbo, invited the people of Abia Central Senatorial zone, party faithful, and teeming supporters across the senatorial zone on his formal declaration scheduled on Friday 6th, May 2022.

At the forthcoming APC primaries, Onuigbo shall slug out the Abia Central Senatorial district seat ticket with the likes of, former members of the National Assembly, Senator Nkechi Nwaogu, and Chief Henry Ikon.

Recall that Rep Sam Onuigbo had earlier reiterated his unwavering commitment to continue to provide responsive and effective representation tilted at ensuring the necessary dividends of democracy are brought to the doorsteps of the people.
