A political support group, under the aegis APC coalition for Tinubu/Shettima has met with community leader and party wards chairmen in Kuje area council to solicit support for the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tibunu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima for the February, 25, 2023 general election.
The group coordinator, Bitrus Lawrence Garki, while addressing some of the community leaders and ten ward chairmen across the council at Kuje town hall on Tuesday, there was the need for them to support the candidature of Tinubu/Shettima as they are the best choice among the presidential candidates that will address issues affecting people of the territory.
He noted that the FCT has population of over two million people without representation at the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and with only two house of representatives and one senatorial district as well as six area councils.
He said lack of political will by leaders some has been responsible for the challenges facing people of the FCT, saying only the APC will be able to address issues affecting people of the FCT.
“And judging by the land mass and the population of people in the FCT, we are having low representation at the national assembly, which I believe the coming of Tinubu as president shall address such challenges, he said.
The FCT coordinator for Tinubu!/Shettima campaign group left the secretary, Mr Tosin Adeyanju during interactive season with community leaders in Kuje on Tuesday.
According to him, there was the need for FCT community leaders and ward chairmen to mobilized their people in order to vote for Tinubu/Shettima in the February 25th, 2023 election in the territory, saying APC is the only party that will address their problems.
Also speaking, the secretary of the support group, Mr Tosin Adeyanju, stressed on the need for community leaders and ward chairmen across the council to ensure for support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to become next president of Nigeria.
He said it was only Tinubu’s presidency that will guarantee welfare of the people of the FCT, adding that the APC under Tinubu’s administration will also tackle ‘injustice’ against the people especially natives og the territory.
