The managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Hallmark Global Petroleum, Engr Joseph Enyinnaya, has applauded the recent landslide victory of the ex-bank chief and the Abia state flagbearer of the labour party, Dr Alex Chioma Otti, at the just concluded governorship election held in the state.
The INEC returning officer for Abia Gubernatorial election, Professor Nnenna Otti, said Alex Chioma Otti of the Labour Party, polled a total of 175, 467 votes to beat his closest rival of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Okey Ahiwe, who scored 88,529 votes to come second.
The final announcement came after the INEC temporarily suspended the collation of results from the last local government area, Obingwa.
Festus Okoye, the head of INEC communication and voter education unit, in a statement, hinted that a decision was reached to suspend the collation of election results in Obingwa in Abia and Enugu East in Enugu State in order to carry out a review of the collation processes in the states.
This also came on the background of the accusation and counter-accusations by candidates of the major political parties over the reported hostage-taking of INEC officials, violence and mutilation of election results from Obingwa by the government of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.
Earlier, the Oil magnet, Joseph Enyinnaya, while reacting to the outcome of the recently-concluded governorship election in Abia state by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), opined the recent emergence of Alex Otti as the new Abia Governor-elect and winner of the conducted gubernatorial poll in the state was a true reflection and wishes of the majority population of Abia people.
Enyinnaya lauded the State Governor-elect for his consistency and resoluteness in the effort in liberating Abia from the clutches of mis-governance and confided in the ability and capacity of Otti to deliver true democratic dividends to every doorsteps of people of Abia state when formally inaugurated and sworn-in into office.
He partly stated: “indeed, you represent the burning aspiration of Abians.
“Your victory is not a surprise to many because you have been resolute and highly consistent in your quest to liberate Abia from bad leadership”.
The foremost Abia chieftain, however, on behalf of Abia south progressives, congratulated Dr Alex Chioma Otti on his recent landslide victory at the just concluded gubernatorial election held across the state.
According to Enyinnaya, “with joy in our hearts, we wholeheartedly share in this unique moment of happiness across the length and breadth of Abia land, and to specially congratulate you for emerging victorious in the just concluded gubernatorial election in Abia state.
“We pray that our good lord will guide your parts and give you leadership wisdom and tact to deliver dividends of democracy to Ndi-Abians,”he added.
