2023 Guber elections: Ogah restates unwavering commitment to economically and Infrastructurally stable Abia.

 

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2023 general elections in Abia State, Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, has reiterated his unwavering commitment to developing Abia to a new destination of inflows of investments in every economic facets of the state.

He noted that Abia requires a quantum leap as her Infrastructural deficits is humongous hence the need for massive investments in that regard so as to change the geographical and aesthetic landscape of the state.

Ogah who was speaking while disclosing parts of his developmental agendas for Abia State when elected as governor come 2023, also promised that his academic and professional backgrounds would be synergized into delivering the best Infrastructural revolution than any state in east of the Niger when supported to emerge the governor of Abia state in the 2023 elections.

According to the immediate past minister of state for mines and steel development, “i understand development in every sense of the word.

“My academic background is in the sublime field of economic and financial studies, while my professional background is in financial services and entrepreneurship.

“A combination of these experiences puts me in good stead to explicate on development”, the APC gubernatorial standard-bearer added.

Our correspondent recalls that Uche Ogah had on 26th of May 2022, emerged as the Abia governorship standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress in the recently-concluded gubernatorial primary elections for the forthcoming 2023 general elections in Abia state.

He was declared the winner of the just concluded gubernatorial primary elections after he scored 141,952 votes to beat his closest rival, Paul Ikonne who scored 27,054.

Other gubernatorial aspirants includes, Chief Ikechi Emenike who polled 9,446, Emeka Atuma with 7,429, Obinna Oriaku with 5,553, Alex Otti scored 2,41, and Daniel Eke who got 1,953 at the keenly contested direct primaries.

Ogah, a foremost industrialist and the main bearer of the Abia governorship seat ticket of APC in the state will face major candidates of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, Professor Uche Ikonne, All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Professor Greg Ibe, Social Democratic Party (SDP), Apostle Glady Johnson-Ogbuneke, Accord Party(AP), Ambassador Bishop Nwankpa, and as well as Candidate of the African Democratic Party (ADC), Bishop Samuel Ndukwo Onuoha.

Also recalls that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), had announced Feb. 25 as for the presidential and National Assembly elections while governorship and state assembly elections will now be held on March 11, 2023.

On 11 March, 28 governorship elections will be held alongside elections to state houses of assembly in all 36 states.

Prof Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of the Electoral Commission INEC Chairman of the commission, Prof Mahmood Yakub, said the new dates followed the signing of the amendments to the Electoral Bill by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The commission had earlier announced Feb. 18 for the presidential election.
