Ahead of the commencement of the campaigns by political parties and candidates for the 2023 general elections in the country, the house of representatives candidate of the Labour Party (LP) from Abia state, Chief Amobi Godwin Ogah, has declared that his bid to represent the Isiuakwato/Umunneochi federal constituency in the green chamber of the national assembly is shrouded on the improvement of welfares of the people in the two local government areas that formed the present federal constituency through the attraction of the building and resuscitation of meaningful federal and state projects in both areas.

Ogah who spoke on the backdrops of his readiness and that of the leadership of the Labour Party for the soon-to-be-conducted general elections in Abia come 2023, regretted that enough has not been done to raise the bar in Infrastructure, economic development, human empowerment, and as well as address the rising insecurities ravaging some parts of the Isiuakwato/Umunneochi federal constituency.

It was contained in a statement issued to newsmen on Wednesday in Umuahia, the Abia state capital.

The LP national assembly hopeful reiterated his unwavering commitment to lifting the youths from joblessness, and giving every section of the federal constituency socio-economic and Infrastructural facelifts to enhance livelihoods and ease the way of doing businesses in the area, through the presentation of development-oriented bills and sound law-making, maintaining that he’s not into the house of representatives race for personal enrichments, and also stated that God had richly endowed him hence he’s running for the federal seat elections to give back to God and humanity.

Ogah who also doubled as Chief Executive Officer of Pauli Mama Nigeria Limited, tasked political parties and their candidates for the coming elections to refrain from mere political propaganda and character assassination, and carry out issues-based campaigns to advance the cause of governance in Abia state.

He stated clearly that Labour Party in Abia state is poised to wrest power from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party and engender a purposeful and responsive leadership at all strata of the state for good of the populaces in the state, and further regretted that the PDP and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have failed to guarantee enabling environment for business in citizens to thrive and frowned in strong term the economic inflations and hardship, Infrastructural decadence and collapse of education system, healthcare delivery system, poor road Infrastructure network and unstable security architecture, reiterated in the capacity of Labour Party (LP) had mapped-out long term economic blueprints, and as well, worked out a well-defined template to address the myriads of fundamental and structural challenges impeding the deepening of growths and development in Abia state, and entire Nigeria federation.

According to Ogah, “Labour Party has come to stay, and have the panacea to delivering Abia state and the nation as a whole from the shackles of PDP and APC mis-governance in the state. And come 2023, Labour Party is ready and poised any day anytime, to take over the affairs of Abia, and bring the desired and needed leadership and representations to improve the poor standard of living by indigent people, residents and the inhabitants of Isiukwato/Umunneochi federal constituency, and indeed entire country.

“Labour Party will rewrite the narratives in the governance of Abia state, and raise the bar in every important economic facet of the state, especially in local communities of the seventeen local government areas in Abia state to engender genuine transformation and development for good of the Abia populaces when supported to form next government in Abia, and at the national level as we head to another democratic election”.

Asked to speak on personal assessment and views on the electoral chances of the Labour Party in securing total victories in every elective political office as Nigerian electorates approach the 2023 main state house of assembly, gubernatorial, national assembly and presidential polls, Chief Amobi Ogah said the Labour Party have capable, competent and quality candidates who had individually distinguished themselves in all fields of human endeavours or doings and would broaden all institutions of governance in Abia state for effective and efficient service delivery towards deepening the present democracy in the federation when given opportunity to steer the affairs of the country.

He described the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi, and Abia gubernatorial standard-bearer of the Labour Party for the 2023 general election in Abia state, Dr Alex Chioma Otti as men of proven integrity and sterling capacities who possessed the wherewithal to redefine governance in the country, adding that eligible voters in the state and the country at large, have embraced Labour party as it remains the only alternative to the enthronement of responsible and responsive leadership at the wards, local government, and state and as well as at the federal levels.
