Ahead of the 2023 general election, a group, Kogi Youths Forum has urged Governor Yahaya Bello to as a matter of necessity declare for the Presidential election given his giant strides in leadership and numerous humanitarian gestures to the people across the country.

The Coordinator of the Forum, Honourable Attah Emmanuel, who addressed some Journalists on Monday in Lokoja, said the Kogi Youths during an enlarged meeting of its members drawn from across the 21 local government areas of the state resolved to call on the Kogi state government to immediately declare and contest for the Presidency.

Hon. Attah Emmanuel explained that Gov. Yahaya Bello’s attributes and his pragmatism in the governance of Kogi state have touched many lives positively which is a sign that the people of Nigeria will lose if he is not allowed to govern the country.

According to the Forum, Bello, a budding Youth, will ensure good leadership, employment, empower women and youths as being witnessed currently in Kogi state.

They commended the Governor particularly on the education sector as he established tertiary educational institutions like the Confluence University of Science and Technology Osara, saying it is an act of patriotism to nation-building.

The establishment of the Central Motor Park in Lokoja has a well-organized transportation business not just for Kogi State, but with the ripple effect felt across the country.

On governance, Kogi State can boast of a workable system as the Local Governments are manned by democratically elected Chairmen and councilors who are also given freehand to perform their functions at the grassroots.

The forum maintained that the Governor is an abridged builder, unifier, and a highly security-conscious administrator, who is trying to bring the Northern and Southern people together.

Gov. Yahaya Bello has done a lot, though a silent achiever, whose contributions to the growth and development of the state should not be underestimated and posterity will live to attest to it.

Engineer Attah urged others in the society to emulate him emphasizing that collective efforts towards poverty reduction would yield positive results in creating a better society.
