2023: LP suspends Chairman over failure to mobilize supporters for Obi’s rally in Kogi.

The Labour Party (LP) has suspended indefinitely it’s Igalamela/ Odolu local government area of Kogi state, Alhaji Musa Odamagu, for gross misconducts.

A press release signed by the Executive Committee members of the party, made available to the media at Ajaka headquarters of the local government area, stated that the suspension with last pending the outcome of investigations levelled against him

According to LP sources at Igalamela/Odolu, the suspended Chairman was linked to the hardship encountered by the members of the party during the rally organised for the Party’s presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi in Lokoja Kogi state.

Meanwhile, the local government Executive of the party has appointed Mr.Yahaya Ibrahim Atabo as the acting Chairman of the party pending the outcome of the investigation.

The acting Chairman in his acceptance speech promised to uphold the party’s rules and regulations as contained in the constitution and in line with its manifesto

The party leadership said the disciplinary action is to sanitize the party of misdeeds and to serve as deterrence to others who may be nursing ideas of corruption and mismanagement.

It would be recalled that the Labour Party Presidential Campaign rally in Lokoja, Kogi state capital was not attended by the expected crowd, a situation that embarrassed the Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi and the National officers as well as the Stakeholders of the party.
