……We are not part of your failure, campaign to win your election– APC tells PDP.
……We have on record activities of your officials- PDP alleges.
By David Odama, Lafia
The governing All Progressives Congress, (APC) in Nasarawa State Tuesday challenged the opposition People’s Democratic party, PDP, to work toward winning the next months’ elections rather than heaping their failure on the governor, government and APC in the state.
This is even as the party has disassociate itself from the woes of the opposition PDP saying it was not part of the party’s failure in Nasarawa state.
Spokesman for the ruling APC in Nasarawa State, Chief Douglas Otaru stated this while reacting to allegations by the opposition PDP that officials of government were forcing retirees and other residents to exchange PVC for pension payment,
The image maker of the party who described the allegations by the opposition PDP as baseless, unfounded and calculated attempts to smear the hard earned image of APC as well mislead the law abiding citizens of the state.
According to him, the political space are large enough for all the political parties to showcase their potentials, policies and programmes to win election”.
He urged Nigerians to disregard the sinking ship of the opposition and prepare themselves to vote APC in the next month general elections.
“It is only those suffering from political glaccuma that don’t see Governor Sule’s achievements. Sule’s styles of governance is that of agenda setting, results yielding, and people’s driven policies and programmes “.
“PDP must not resort to blackmail, destructive propaganda to win election in Nasarawa State. False alarm will not them win election”. Otaru declared.
It would be recalled that the opposition PDP had on Monday alleged that government officials in Nasarawa state are going round collecting the Voters Vin Number that is on PVC of pensioners in a form designed by agent’s of the state as condition for payment of their pensions and gratuities.
The allegations which was contained in a statement signed by the Public Relation Officer of the Party, Mohammad Ibrahim Hamza, and made available to Journalists in lafia, described the situation as a sad development and unfortunate.
It adds that “it is pertinent to note that Payment of pensions and gratuities to retired workers is not a privilege but a right. So for some government officials to begin to initiate partisan politics on the payment of pension is most disheartening”.
“To this end, the Peoples Democratic Party PDP in Nasarawa State wants to use this medium to condemn the act in totality and urge INEC and all relevant security agencies to go after the perpetrators and their sponsors, arrest and prosecute them to serve as deterrent to others”.
According to the statement, “It is a clear manifestation of desperation of the ruling APC and the handwork of enemies of democracy to frustrate, manipulate, and to disrupt the electoral process or manipulate power through dubious means” the party stated.
