2023: Nasarawa Governor Urges APC Aspirants To unite and defend common interests.

Nasarawa State Governor, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, Monday, played host to aspirants and candidates of the governing All Progressives Congress ( APC) in the State.

Governor Sule was flanked by Senator representing Nasarawa South, Umaru Tanko Al-makura and Speaker Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi urged the politicians to close ranks with other members of the party to ensure the victory of the party in the 2023 general elections.

Sule made the call in a meeting with the aspirants of the party in Government House Lafia.

He said the meeting was to provide a platform for a frank talk among aspirants in the primary elections held by the All Progressives Congress (APC).

” To enable all of us to talk sincerely on ways forward to ensure the victory of our great party, APC comes 2023,” he said.

The Governor said that the meeting was not held earlier due to the activities of the reconciliation committee.

Sule while reaffirming the strength of the party, stressed the need for the members to remain resolute in their commitments toward the progress and success of the party.

He urged them to have faith and see reason in working for the progress of the party in the forthcoming elections.

” I urge you to close ranks with other members of the party to ensure the victory of the party in the 2023 general elections.

” We need to continue to remain united for the success of our party, come 2023,” he said.

The Governor also reassured of his commitment and support to the party to succeed beyond 2023 in the state.

Also speaking, Sen. Umaru Tanko Al-Makura (APC- Nasarawa South) said the meeting provided a platform for truth and reconciliation to move the party forward in the state.

Al-Makura, who is a former Governor of the state emphasized the need for sacrifices and teamwork for the progress of the party.

He explained that the members of the party must not relent in associating and wooing the interest of aggrieved members to further the chances of the party.

On his part, Speaker of the State House of Assembly and the APC flag-bearer for the Umaisha/Ugya constituency, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi said the meeting though timely was a wake-up call for members to further unite for the progress of the party which he noted is for the benefit of the people of Nasarawa State.

Balarabe Abdullahi who represents the Umaisha/Ugya constituency of Toto LGA of the State urged party stalwarts to embrace teamwork for the victory of the party in 2023.

Earlier, Chairman of the All Progressives Congress ( APC), Dr John Mamman explained that the meeting was meant to mend fences and to further strengthen the capacity of the party ahead of the forthcoming general election.

It would be reported that ninety-four out of the One hundred and sixty-one persons who vied for the thirty-three seats cutting across the Governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly were in attendance at the meeting.
