The humongous debt orofile of the federal government of Nigeria under the autocratic regime of the All Progressives Congress, APC, jointly led by President Muhmmadu Buhari and Alhaji Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been described as “life threatening” by the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Delta State, Rt Hon Oborevwori Sheriff Francis Orohwedor.

Oborevwori while addressing a mammoth crowd of party faithfuls and supporters in Sapele, in continuation of his Ward to Ward Campaigns, disclosed that the hardship, hunger, joblessness, poverty and constant devaluation of the Naira currency, was as a result of the $40 billion foreign debts and other loans needlessly and recklessly obtained from multilateral sources by the Buhari and Tinubu led APC national government.
The PDP Guber candidate and incumbent Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, further posited that the vexed mismanagement of the nation’s economy is at variance with the electioneering promises made to Nigerians by the ruling APC national government in 2015 and 2019, adding that Nigerians will no longer fall for APC campaign lies that brought hunger, poverty, acute insecurity, mismanaged health and education sectors, among others.
It is common knowledge that the N40 billion debt was obtained from multilateral sources such as; the World Bank, African Development Bank, International Monetary Fund, China, et al. Today, the nation’s economy is in comatose and near total collapse. No thanks to President Muhmmadu Buhari and APC national government.
Oborevwori said 2023 provides another apple opportunity for all impoverished, jobless and hungry Nigerians, as well as University students who were denied access to classrooms for over eight months by President Buhari, to take up their PVCs on election days to vote PDP, it’s Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, CON, adding that Atiku-Okowa has the solutions for the wrecked and bleeding Nigeria economy.
On his M.O.R.E agenda, Oborevwori assured the good people of Delta State that he would expand the scope of overall development of the three senatorial districts and ensure a sustained equitable distribution of state resources for the wellbeing and prosperity of all Deltans without discrimination, and devoid of nepotism and undue favouritism.
He said his overall vision will be to operate a responsive, responsible and all inclusive government that would spontaneously trigger substantial economic growth, peace and security, public-private partnership that will boost the productive sectors in all ramifications, as well as place Delta State far and above her contemporaries in the scheme of things.
“As I speak to you, APC national government has plunged Nigeria into monumental foreign debts of over $40 billion. The Buhari administration will continue to borrow to service debt, to pay salaries and do all manner of things.

“The implication of the humongous debt profile is that the Naira currency continues to slide downward and has become worthless, which is why a bag of Nigeria made rice cost as much as N55,000, far and above worker minimum wage. We are in trouble!
“APC poverty government must go and the time is now. Take up your PVCs and vote PDP, Atiku-Okowa in 2023.
“Enough of these hunger, poverty, regular hike in pump price of fuel. We must be free from APC bondage. The time is now, Atiku-Okowa is the solution.
“I urge you, the good people of Sapele local government area, to vote Atiku-Okowa for President, Sheriff-Onyeme for Governor, Chief Ighoyota Amori for Senate, Hon Barr Evelyn Oboro for House of Representatives and Hon Perkins Awolowo for House of Assembly,” he added.
In the same vein, the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Olorogun Barr Kingsley Esiso said Sapele has been long Sheriffied, meaning bloc vote for PDP on 5/5 basis, come 2023.
He berated a member of the APC, Chief Paulinus Akpeki over his unwarranted statements in connection with Delta governorship race, saying that Akpeki who is an illustrious son of Okpe Kingdom had worked against her governorship slot and therefore misfired, goofed and blinded by APC’s morsel of bread.
Esiso disclosed that as far as Sapele politics and political power game is concerned, Akpeki is at the back seat and has become politically inactive and irrelevant in the scheme of things, adding that Akpeki finally crashed politically for supporting Senator Ovie Omo-Agege’s Orogun agenda; wherein he situated all federal government projects in his Orogun town to the detriment of eight local governments and communities in Delta Central Senatorial District.
