Students of tertiary institutions under the aegis of North Central Students Groups (NCSG) have signed up in support of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar for the February, 25th 2023, election

The north central students, which comprised of Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi, Benue and Plateau in their thousands converged at the Sheraton Hotel conference hall, Abuja, where the senate minority leader, Senator Philip Aduda representing the FCT, was the special guest of honor at the event.

The students, who carried banners with the pictures of the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa, and supported by Senator Philip Aduda alongside the FCT campaign Director General (DG) of Atiku /Okowa for 2023, Mr Ezikel Dalhatu Musa, walked through street Abuja, chanting songs in support of the party’s presidential, senatorial and house of representatives candidates in the FCT.

Speaking at the event, the leader of North/ Central Students Groups (NCSG), said the students decided to come together and unanimously resolved to SIGN-UP for Atiku/Okowa presidency and by extension, all PDP Senators and house of representative members in the geographical zone of the north central.

He said the students deemed it necessary to give their support to the presidential and all the national assembly candidates on the platform of the PDP in order revamped the education sector, which he said was now comatose under the present APC administration.

“We believe that having PDP in power come 2023, will bring a sigh of big relief to not only students of the north central but the entire. The eight months strike our lecturers embarked under the APC will not happened under the PDP, which is why decided to declare our support for party’s candidate, “he said.

Also speaking, Senator Philip Aduda, who said he was elated with massive support of the students group, commended them taking such a wise decision to support the PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar.

He assured them that the PDP under the incoming president Atiku Abubakar, will ensure universities across the country are given adequate priority it deserves.

He student’s of the universities and other tertiary institutions will feel the impact of the PDP administration under the leadership of Atiku Abubakar, saying strike in any university will never happened under the PDP administration.

Aduda, however, said he has always given attention to student’s s welfare especially disbursement of scholarships to both indigenes and residents of the FCT learning at various institutions of across the country annually.

He, therefore, reiterated his unreserved continuous support for students, which he said he has always demonstrated.

Our correspondent report that former Governor of Niger state, Dr Muazu Babangida Aliyu, Dr Barakat as well as some top PDP chieftains were at event, that also joined the students for the road show.
