2023: Ogah reveals plan to improve Abia’s education system.
Dr Uche Sampson Ogah, the main-bearer of the Abia Governorship seat ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the 2023 general elections, has promised to make education accessible to every citizen of the state when elected as governor.
Ogah who was the immediate past Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, made the pledge in a statement on Tuesday, while disclosing his agenda to improve on collapsed education system in Abia state, recalled huge impacts education created in shaping his life, and the enormous successes it brought to him to stand out among the equal as excellent financial expert and foremost entrepreneur, and also pledged when elected as Abia governor, deliberate educational policies will be formulated and implemented to benefit the generality of Abian from pre-primary, secondary, and as well tertiary levels of education which according to him, would see an increase in enrollment of pupils and students while also updating the educational curricular of the different levels to prepare our young ones for an active future filled with opportunities.
The frontline APC governorship candidate in Abia state and Doyen of Abia Rejoice, further revealed that he had designed a robust educational policy which his administration will begin its implementations, immediately he is sworn into the office as governor of the state come 2023, towards achieving his visionary agendas for Abia’s education sector.
According to Dr Ogah, “my policy on education will revolutionalized the method of pedagogy, Respect and responsibly Remunerate those who impart knowledge on our children (teachers & lecturers), while also ensuring that the right atmosphere is created to ease learning and other educational pursuits”.
He said in full, “Education was my ticket to a better future for myself and my siblings. It was not a rosy childhood for us as a family but we struggled to go to school, understand what was being imparted in us and also put to use what we were being taught in order to stand out in our school and possess the mind of excellence.
“If there is anything I have achieved in my life, it is because of the right kind of knowledge which I have gained through education and also the ever abiding grace of God. Having a good understanding of the multiplex advantages which education confers on a person and his or her immediate environment, I would work to ensure that others who may not have access to education as a result of certain circumstances would partake in education that would assure them of a better future.
“If sworn into office as your Abia State Governor, deliberate educational policies will be formulated and implemented to benefit the generality of Abians from pre-primary, secondary and of course tertiary levels of education which would see an increase in enrollment of pupils and students while also updating the educational curricular of the different levels to prepare our young ones for an active future filled with opportunities.
“To have a broad world view on issues, it is pertinent to be immersed in the right kind of education. I have designed a robust educational policy which we will begin its implementation when in office as your Abia State Governor.
