Recall that Orji who earlier was called upon to run for the governorship seat of Abia state by critical stakeholders and socio-cultural and political groups in the state rescinded the calls, and decided to contest the Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal constituency seat in the House of Representatives in the 2023 general elections necessitated by the appeal by Stakeholders from the constituency-led by Chief Emeka Inyamah.

He contributed immensely to the political stability of God’s Own State today, etc. So, there is no doubt that he has raised the bar in human, economic, and Infrastructural growths and development, which are highly emulative, laudable, and second to none”.
Chief Iroegbulam, who holds the traditional title of Agbawodikeizu II and Akunwata of Ekenobizi Umuopara in Umuahia South Local Government Area of Abia State, confided that Rt Hon Chinedum Orji will provide and attract a greater number of tangible developmental projects when supported to emerge as the PDP House of Representatives Standard bearer for the seat of Ikwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency seat in House of Representatives in the forthcoming PDP primaries, and as well, elected into the green chamber of the National Assembly in the main general elections in 2023.
He further reiterated that the Speaker has the needed capacity, ability, competence, and expertise to rewrite the narratives of governance in the Ikwuano/Umuahia federal constituency when elected as a member of the Nigerian House of Representatives come 2023.
“The people of Ikwuano, Umuahia North, and Umuahia south local government areas that formed IKwuano/Umuahia Federal Constituency should expect more effective and responsive representation from the Speaker, Rt Hon Chinedum Orji. He is a quintessential leader of excellence. He has achieved laudable and tremendous strides that have enhanced and uplifted many livelihoods in Umuahia and beyond. And on that basis, we, the people of Ikwuano/Umuahia extraction called upon him to join the national assembly race to bring more live changing projects to the constituency through the business of the lawmaking. I will seize this opportunity to call on all PDP delegates to support the Speaker to emerge as flag-bearer of the party in the forthcoming primaries to enable consolidate his wonderful achievements.
