2023: We’II only vote for candidate that sign pact with us – says FCT natives

 

Natives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) under the aegis of the Abuja Original Inhabitants Youth Empowerment Organization (AOIYEO), have said that they will only vote for candidate during the 2023 general election that sign pact with them about their demands.

President of AOIYEO, Commandant Isaac David, who stated this while speaking with newsmen in Abuja on Saturday, said both presidential, senatorial and house of representatives candidate that are seeking for vote of the natives must sign a charter of demand with them.

He said it was quite unfortunate that some politicians fronting themselves as sole representative who are canvassing for votes from FCT natives to win the 2023 general election do not mean well for FCT people and Nigerians rather than satisfying their selfish interest.

“And we shall reveal the identities of some of these politicians at the appropriate time so that FCT indigenes and Nigerians can use their votes to reject their them,” he said.

He added “We can only support and vote for a candidate who will come down to our community and meet one on one with us and properly sign a charter of demand. And we will go ahead and mobilize our people for such candidate”.

According to him, the natives will not discuss with any representative or candidate of any political party, saying the natives will only mobilize and vote for a candidate who has thoroughly discussed with them and has been cleared by their people.

” Besides, I’m privileged to know some of these people. And at the appropriate time, we will mention their names,” he said.

He added “let them remember what happened during the recent FCT area councils election that our people only voted for the candidate the we all agreed for and let also watch to see what is going to happen next,” he added.

He, however, said that despite negative moves by some desperate politicians, his leadership has not relented in offering empowerment opportunities to strengthen good relationship with the people of FCT and government institutions.

Isaac, therefore, urged natives of the FCT to continue to remain calm about their present predicament in FCT, saying something good will soon come their way.
