2023: What I told Buhari About my Presidential Ambition – Says Tinubu

A national leader of ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, and Former Governor of Lagos State, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has told Nigerians the reason behind his visit to President Muhammadu Buhari in Aso-rock on Monday.

Mr. Tinubu said that he visited the President to formally inform him of his intentions to run for President in 2023.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting, he said that the President was not opposed to his ambition.

“He didn’t askS me to stop, he didn’t askS me not to attempt and pursue my ambition. It is a lifelong ambition. You are running a democratic dispensation and you must adopt the principles and values and virtues of democracy.”

“I don’t want to discuss individuals now, I must discuss myself. I have the confidence, vision, and capacity to build on the foundation of the President and turn Nigeria better.”

“I have done that with commitment and yielding zeal in Lagos State.”
