Wife of the chairman of Kuje area council in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Hajiya Salamatu Suleiman Sabo, has assured wife of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Hajiya Titi Atiku Abubakar, that women were fully prepared to vote for all candidates of the party during the Febuary, 25, 2023 election in the territory.
Sabo, who was speaking on behalf of the FCT women during interactive session with wife of the PDP presidential candidate, Hajiya Titi Atiku Abubakar, at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja on Monday, noted women had always cast their votes enblock for the PDP in every elections in FCT.
She said the FCT women showcased by voting for all the party’s candidates during the last area councils elections
where PDP won 48 councilors, leaving behind 18 for the APC.
She, therefore, assured Atiku’s wife that women across the FCT will vote for Atiku Abubakar, senator Philip Aduda and the two houses of representatives candidates on the platform of the PDP, Hon Micah Jiba and Hon Hassan Usman Sokodabo respectively.
“Our mummy, I want to state categorically that women in FCT have always vote for PDP candidates. And we shall reciprocate that come in 2023 by voting for Atiku Abubakar, Senator Phillip Aduda and the two house of representatives candidates by the grace of Go., “she said.
The council chairman’s wife, however, informed the presidential candidate wife that people of the FCT are always been short changed in terms of employment, saying FCT women who always control the highest votes on every election are not considered for employment.
She said people of the FCT are being sidelined in terms of employment, even as she said people of the FCT deserve a representative at the federal executive council.
“Mummy if you look round this hall, there are capable people who can represent us at the ministerial level,” she said.
She also lamented over insecurity which she said has been ravaging people of the territory, saying despite most of the women are agrarian farmers, as they can no longer go to the farms over fear of being kidnapped.
