Ahead of Edo State 2024 governorship election, former Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Marcus Onobun (ksc) has stepped down for the foremost Peoples Democratic Party aspirant, Asue Ighodalo, Esq.

Member House of Representatives representing Esan West, Esan Central and Igueben Federal Constituency of Edo State emphasized the need to key behind a visionary leader like Asue Ighodalo to take Edo to the most desired level of prosperity.
The lawmaker in a statement made available to press men recently, noted he had declared his support for Asue for the good of Edo citizens. The statement read in part:
“I apologise for my inability to Attend the Screening of Aspirants of the Esan Extraction today as reason of a funeral Ceremony of My grandfather Pa Iregbeyen Onobun.
“I have done Consultation across the State, and in the Spirit of Sportsmanship and respect for our leaders, I wish to suspend my Aspiration for Edo Governorship 2024 and Support my Brother Barr. Asue Ighodalo.
“It is my Desire to see an Esan Man becomes Governor 2024. And I pledge my Commitment to take a front seat in this Struggle.
God bless my leader and the Edo Central Special Committee.”
