Football Tournaments: Umuanunu Fc club wins final match against Umunkari.

The 19th edition of Divine Agenda Unity Football Tournament has ended in penalty, with team players from the umuanunu community in Obingwa local government area in Abia state defeating umunkari community during a penalty kick to win the finals of the tournament.

The umuanunu football team won with 4 goals against Umunkari community football club which scored 3 to take the second place.

The annual football tournaments was kicked off in December 14, 2023 with team players drawn from 24 local communities in Obingwa local area.

The umuanunu community emerged defending champion in the just-concluded Divine Agenda Unity Cup football competitions with 4 goals against the umunkari which took the second place on conclusion of the final execrise.

Also, in females category that polled third and fourth places were rewarded with undisclosed cash donations by the organizers of the Divine Agenda Unity Football Cup Tournaments.

In the women category in the recently-concluded Divine Agenda 2023 Unity Football Cup Tournaments, the umuopara community won the cup with a goal in a penalty shoot outs against Akanu Umuokorie by the team players.

Cash donations were presented to second and third places respectively at the end of the well-attended the yearly soccer football tournaments.

Speaking at a brief ceremony to mark the final stage of the Divine Unity Football Cup Competitions, Dr Nyerere
Chinenye Anyim congratulated umuanunu team players for emerging victorious and maintaining as the defending champion for three consecutive times in the tournaments.

According to him in words: “Umuanunu community which incidentally is the defending champion, has won the unity football Cup for three consecutive times. Back to back. And incidentally has won this goal trophy in this year divine agenda unity cup tournaments”.

Mr Anyim who also used the medium to reiterate the unwavering commitment and continued support to improving human development through initiations of development-oriented programmes.

He partly said: “We’re still going out to touch more lives because we at last bring hope at last to the people. The hopeless people, we give them hope through God’s grace, and instrumentality of God’s divine mercies upon us and also upon the humanitarian foundations.

“So, this new year, we except people to key into our projects and the same services that had been rendered, and that is ongoing, we will continue with it”.
