Kidnappers hijack 2 passenger buses in Kogi, number of abducted persons not ascertained.

Kidnappers have hijacked two passenger buses from the eastern part of the country traveling to Abuja, the Federal Capital.
The number of the passengers and the crews of the buses kidnapped at Inyele – Eteke in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State, is yet to be ascertained.
It was gathered on Monday that the two luxury buses, and ABC transport heading to Abuja were hijacked and all the passengers were abducted and herded into the the thick forest by the hoodlums.
Investigation revealed that the GIG bus left Umuahia in Abia state on Saturday at about 7:30 am on its way to Abuja.
Aready the management of the GIG company company is said to be making frantic effort for the release of the innocent passengers as it has contacted security services with a view to tracking the victims.
Confirming the incidence, the Kogi State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, SP William Aya, stated that the incident happened, but the Divitional Police Officer in charge of Olamaboro Division, Local Vigilantes and Hunters have been in the bush in an effort to rescue the victims.
According to the PPRO, two buses were involved, but he can not say how many passengers were kidnapped.
He, however disclosed that the Kogi State Commissionet of Police, CP Bethrand Onuoha, has deployed additional Tactical Squad consisting of Quick Response Unit, Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit, as well as conventional Police personnel to the area to continue with the rescue operation by combing the forest, to ensure all victims are rescued.
