Sukubo Sara-igbe Sukubo, who just received a national disgrace and impeached by the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, as President for abuse of office and misappropriation of funds should buried his head in shame and not to pretend to be a saint amidst controversy hanging on his shoulder.

Rejoinder: withdrawal of award conferred on Yahaya Bello

The viral story of the withdrawal of award of Grand Commander of the Nigeria Youths (GCNY) by the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) will best be described proverbially as bringing out a masquerade and at the same time making it to laugh in public.

Ordinarily, such erratic decisions does not even elicit reactions, for obvious reasons of overzealousness and erratic stance, having committed the entire congregation into taken such laudable decisions, but was purported to have been reverted/ withdrawn for reasons yet unknown.

From the grapevine and for sanity , crowing or installing the youngest governor Nigeria has produced in the person of former Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello was not a misnomer, misplaced priority particularly as he fell into that category.

But , the obvious reasons of the politicisation of the entire process had made the whole decisions of an umbrella body of a youth organization(NEC) in Nigeria a child’s play.

The purported decision on the flagship of the youth who had the highest office in the land among his peers does not augur well for the cohesion, unity , peace and development of the body, therefore the decision could best be described as null and void.

It is obvious that the current decision was bereft of youths who are expected to be leaders of tomorrow been involved in such shaddy reversal of decision already taken.

There is no doubt and with due respect to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu obviously by age and authority is the father of the nation and contemporary of the parents of the former governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello.

Therefore, bestowing on him the Grand Commander of Nigeria Youths GCNY was based purely on merit and age and not any undertone.

Coming round to withdraw the new Award and recersal to “Doyen of the Nigeria Youths”, was a conglomeration of youths bereft of not only ideas , but with skeptic future.

It is unfortunate that the youths of today had subjected themselves to the whims and caprices of some few disgruntled elements using the youth platform as a template to advance their unpopular decisions.

It is also sad that Nigeria Youths at the current dispensation cannot distinguish from what is good and what is bad for them , but submissive to material and influential template.

This trend , if not corrected will leave an indelible and unmitigated mark on the image of the youths now and in the nearest future.

For the immediate past Kogi Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello he has come , seen and conquered, therefore any decision after his ascension was no longer binding.

His contributions to the development of youths in Nigeria no doubt will take a long time to be filled, considering the genuine intentions and his dedication to his cause.
