The Caretaker Chairman of Dekina Local Government Area, Hon John Urah Ikani, has held first security meeting since he was inaugurated with head of security agencies as part of ongoing efforts to sustain and tackle security challenges confronting the area.

The meeting which held on Monday at the LGC secretariat, the Chairman explained that the meeting held towards enhancing synergy, advancing impactful cooperation with security agencies on how to checkmate and stem security threat.

Hon Urah Ikani also revealed during the meeting that the stakeholders equally discussed about the Sustainable Peace Network and as well identify trouble areas in order to take action before it escalate to other areas.

The Chairman who thanked the Nigerian Army, Director State Security, DSS, the Police, the Civil defense, Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Hunters Group and other security Agencies including the Traditional rulers for their cooperation aimed towards ensuring peace reign while development takes over.

“I stand before you today to preside over this maiden Security and peace meeting, first and foremost, I want to give thank to H.E Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for given me this opportunity to serve in this capacity as Caretaker Chairman. I also want to thank all the traditional rulers and security personnel for the synergy Exercised in maintaining peace in our local Government.”

“I wish to convey this message of H.E Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo to us, he said and I quote, The issue of security is topmost in his Administration and that we should not leave any stone unturned in the quest of maintaining peace and others. I want to urged all of us to be security conscious and ensure, peaceful coexistence amongst our people, once again, I welcome you all., Dekina LGC Chairman said.

The Chairman who spoke extensively maintained that Kogi State Government under Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo won’t allowed criminal elements sabotage the successes recorded by the outgone administration rather to consolidate and build on it.

After receiving security reports and briefing from various security heads, he praised to support them to be able to do their job effectively.

He call for a more collective efforts as to defeat the bad eggs in the society.

On their parts, the security heads assured the Chairman of their resolved to ensure peace in the area and warning trouble makers to repent before the full wrath of the law catches up with them.

Also speaking, traditional rulers commended the young Chairman of Dekina LGA for his effort at ensuring sustainable peace and security became the order of the day, they also said they will cooperate with various security agencies to provide security to their various domains.

Global Times Nigeria reports that those traditional rulers who attended the meeting include, Ejeh of Dekina, HRH Alhaji Dr Usman Obaje, Onuh of Abocho, HRH Dr JONAH DRISU OKAI, the Ogohi-Onuh Anyigba, HRH Alhaji Abuh Shaibu Okolo.

Others are Special Adviser on security representing Dekina/BASSA federal constituency, Hon Adaji Kebiru among others.
