Kogi Gov’t Presents Operational Vehicles to Ministries

Part of activities marking the first one hundred days in office and fulfill the sustainable development goals of Kogi State, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, presented three operational vehicles to various ministries to perform optimally.

The Governor was represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Asiwaju Asiru Idris, handed over the vehicles to the benefiting ministries, said it is part of ongoing efforts to meet the state’s development targets.

He said the sustainable development goals of Kogi State, slated for achievement within a thirty-two-year timeframe, focuses on key areas such as Agriculture, Environment, and Water Resources.

The Governor assured that no stone would be left unturned in making life meaningful for the citizens.

The Governor assured that his administration will place priority on making the environment habitable, provision of water and ensuring a clean sanitation across the State.

The Governor emphasized the state’s commitment to implementing necessary measures for sustained development.

Acknowledging the importance of partnerships, Barr. Ladi Ahmed Jatto OON, the state Coordinator of Acresal project, emphasized the need for collaboration with relevant stakeholders for the success of projects in the state.

She described the benefitting Ministries as cardinal to meeting with the objectives of Acresal, assured of her agency’s commitment to making the environment habitable and life meaningful for the people.

She expressed gratitude to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for his unparalleled commitment to ensuring a better life for the people, described his administration as one that has placed the well-being of the people as top priority.

Representatives from the benefiting ministries, including the Commissioner’s for Water Resources, Agriculture, and Environment, expressed their readiness to contribute their Ministries quota towards fulfilling the state’s development aspirations.

Engr. Farouk MD Yusuf, said the gesture would enhance efficiency in providing quality water to the people, assured that soon the problem faced the people of the State regarding water would be a thing of the past.

The donation of the vehicles was facilitated through a World Bank-funded project through Acresal by the State Government, thus indicating the importance of external support in driving development initiatives within the state.
