Rumours of bandits planing to invade Abuja untrue – FCT Police commissioner

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) commissioner of police, CP Benneth Igweh, said the rumours making in some quarters that some suspected bandits were planning to invade Abuja, the nations capital to abduct some residence as untrue.
CP Igweh, who spoke with newsmen at the command in Abuja, on Monday, while reacting to a publication on some some media handles, said intelligence investigation by the command showed there was no such attempt to invade FCT and abduct any resident by suspected bandits.
He said the command has made all necessary deployments of both material and physical assets across various black spots in Abuja and at satellite towns to tame activities of any criminals especially bandits and kidnappers.

According to him, the police command has deployed its men and officers of an the anti- kidnap unit at both exit and entry points into the nation’s capital of Abuja incase of any criminal elements that may attempt to commit any crime.
CP Igweh, however, assured that the command is working assiduously to ensure the safety of all residents and avert any intended attack within the nation’s capital and its environs.
He, therefore, urged residents of the territory to continue to be vigilant as they go about their lawful business without fear from any quarters, saying the command is working assiduously to ensure their safety at all time.
