Eid-el-kabir: Ex-NSHA Speaker, Balarabe, Ohimegye Opanda, calls for sustain fight against insecurity
…..Asks residents to embrace farming to defeat hunger, suffering
As Muslim faithful across the world observe this year Eid-el-kabir celebration, the Chairman Toto LG Traditional Council of Chiefs, the Ohimegye Opanda Umaisha HRH Alh. Usman Abdullahi and the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly Alh. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi today attended the Eid-el Kabir prayer with their people in Umaisha, Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
The Two Unit prayer held at Umaisha Central Eid. Ground was led by the Chief Imam of the area who is the Khadi Sharia Court of Appeal Lafia Justice Mohammed Yahaya Usman with special prayers for peace, unity and progress of the Country, the State and the Area in particular calling on God to intervene in the attacks on innocent citizens of the area.
As it is a tradition among the people, they accompanied the royal father from eid ground to the palace where they all gathered to paid homage and the traditional ruler HRH Alh. Usman Abdullahi in his speech appreciated the effort of Governor Abdullahi Sule and Senator Representing Nasarawa West Ahmed Aliyu Wadada for attracting development to the area.
Ohimegye Opanda tasked his people on peace and unity considering its impact in the society as well as the need to be security conscious and embrace farming, fishing and trading that they are known for.
“Let us massively go back to farming, let us all farm even if you have small potion of land behind your house farm on it, that is the only way we can reduce hunger”
“And also is the fact that leaders should know that the masses are suffering and they should do something to address their plight”
“I also told my people not to allow politics divide them, they should work together for development of the area” He said.
On his part, the immediate past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi commended their Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada for working hard to attract development to the area especially his effort and move towards establishment of Federal College of Fishery as well as Naval Base in Umaisha.
“We sincerely appreciate our Senator Ahmed Aliyu Wadada for the wonderful things he is doing for our people may God bless him”
“We will continue to monitor closely our elected representatives, time will come, we will assess their performance and take decision” Balarabe said.
He called on his people to give President Bola Ahmed Tinubu more time through prayers, support and understanding. saying the President has zeal to transform the country.
“The President has good intention for the country, let pray over the hardship” He said.
“Let us also continue to pray for Gov. Abdullahi Sule to succeed, he has passion for our people, he has passion for the state”
He emphasized the need to keep politics out of the present situation in Toto LG especially that it involves lives of the people so that the needful should be done and permanent peace to be returned to the area.
Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi acknowledged the developmental strides of Governor Abdullahi Sule in the area calling on his people to support government at all levels to succeed for more democratic dividends.
Balarabe Abdullahi appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding him worthy of appointment to serve as Chairman Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State and promised to bring to bear his worth of experience.
The Overseer of Umaisha Development Area Iliyasu Miryam appreciated the royal father’s leadership style and the former Speaker Balarabe Abdullahi for coming down home to celebrate the Eid with his people.
He also called on the people to embrace agriculture for food security in the area.
