The palace of His Royal Highness, Ona of Abaji, Alhaji Baba was today filed to its brim with coming together of Egbira people from all walk of life who came to support and witnessed the first edition of Itochi Egbira Itochi (Ogidi) native Costumes, the initiative which was sponsored by a legal luminary and philanthropist, Barr. Yakubu Galadima.

Barr. Galadima, addressing Egbira Descendants Union delegates, invited guests and friends of Egbira from various States being FCT, Nasarawa, Kogi and Edo States, respectively said the aimed was not only to revive the old tradition of clothes production but rather create job and reduced unemployment rate in the society.

The legal luminary stated that high rate of crimes in the country is alarming, adding that it’s associated with iddlness and lack of job.

He called on the youths especially the Egbira to embrace skills acquisition as only alternative to current economic downturn in the country.

According to him, there is no white collar job anywhere in the country, only skills acquisition doing the magic wand.

He thanked all those who made it to the programs and promised to use his wealth to promote Egbira nation.

Barr Yakubu Galadima was speaking during the first edition of Itochi Egbira, launching of Egbira native costume) held at Abaji, FCT, Abuja at Ona Palace, venue of the event.

On his part, Alhaji Musa Muhammed Maikaya, one time governorship aspirant in Nasarawa State and philanthropist, commended Barr Galadima for his initiate and assured of maximum support to enable him succeed in adding value.

The Ciroman Toto equally unveiled more commitment towards uplifting the standard of Egbira people through various programs and initiatives.

He said many Egbira leaders home and abroad are also contributing their quota at ensuring more development for the Egbira.

He pledged to support Egbira nation in all fronts should the need arise.

A renowned philanthropist, Alhaji Yahaya Ibrahim (Osada) UBEB Abuja, congratulated all the participants who participated in the nitting of Egbira Itochi (Ogidi) costume.

 

He said programme if sustain will improve the economic efficiency of Egbira nation and urging sustainable by the stakeholders.

Also Speaking, Barr. Muhammed Tanko Musa Osuku, former Kogi Local government Chairman and now Chairman Kogi State Civil Service Commission, has advised Egbira to embrace each others no matter the status, that doing so will bring unity and development to the society.

The legal icon cum political juggernaut also told the upcoming artistes and musicians to used Egbira native instruments whenever as for the culture and norms to flow very well.

He praised Barr. Yakubu Galadima for bringing them together to offers useful advises and contributions that will sustain unity, peace and development amongst the Egbira race.

Barr. Tanko, a native of Osuku community, said he was full of joy and overhemed with large turnout of both leadership and members of Ohiku Egbira Descendants Union, OEDU, who abandoned their businesses to converged at Abaji to ensure success of today occasion.

He thanked various traditional rulers for their fatherly support and prayed God to continue to protect them and their subjects as they continue to contribute meaningfully to the development of Egbira nation

Other speakers include, The Paramount Ruler of Mozum, Alhaji Khalid Bukar ll, the Ohiogba of Mozum in Bassa Local Government Area of Kogi State, commended Barrister Yakubu Galadima for people’s oriented initiatives and assures of support.

Ohiogba who used the opportunity to conferred Barr. Yakubu Galadima with traditional title Okuza Magu of Mozum Kingdom. He explained that the new title was part of effort to appreciate Barr Galadima’s gesture across Egbira land.

 

Hon Alhassan Adakeke, Former Kogi State House of Assembly majority leader, who also represented former Secretary to Government of Kogi State and National President of Ohiku Egbira, Alhaji Musa Ahmadu praised doggedness of Barr Yakubu Galadima for bringing Egbira together.

While some traditional rulers who spoke during the programs expressed appreciation and assured of support.

Global Times Nigeria gathered that several awards was presented to some Egbira leaders for their various contribution to the Egbira nation.

The event also witnessed the launching of Ambassador B-Lami’s music, by invited guests.

While various invited guests donated money for the launching of the new music album.
