Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman has praised the youth of Kogi State for boycotting an anti-democratic process, indicating that youth took a stand and refused to participate in a process that goes against democratic values and principles.

Prof Salisu Ogbo was speaking at Kogi Youth Engagement Summit held at Youth House Lokoja, Thursday, said the process in question was likely aimed at undermining democratic institutions, suppressing individual rights, or perpetuating authoritarianism.

The Kogi Rector said the Kogi teeming youth is likely a pro-democracy organization or a segment of society that values democratic principles and wants to see them upheld.

According to him, boycotting the anti-democratic process, the youth of Kogi State have demonstrated courage, commitment, leadership and stood up for their beliefs and refused to be complicit in undermining democracy.

“Kogi youth showed that they value democratic principles and are willing to take action to protect them. They set an example for others to follow, inspiring others to stand up for democracy and democratic values.

Speaking further on the theme: The Role of Nigeria Youth in Nation building, Unlocking Potential, Empowering the future, Prof Salisu Ogbo said young people play a vital role in shaping the future and promoting democratic values in Kogi State.

He praise highlights the significance of upholding democratic principles and resisting anti-democratic efforts, Noting that the youth’s actions demonstrate a sense of responsibility to promote and protect democracy.

He commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for sustaining development, security, agriculture, health and human capital development.

The Academic Don also appreciated the State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Monday Anyebe, Chairman Kogi State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, NYCN, Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale and other like-minded individuals who put heads together to support present administration to succeed.

Similarly, Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale, the Chairman Kogi State chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria NYCN, has commended Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo for his inclusive leadership and efforts to promote youth inclusion in Kogi State
