…..As Speaker Jatau commend his courage to align with APC and assures him of equal treatment

In a shocking move, Honourable Mohammed Garba Isimbabi have defected from the opposition party, New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP, to join the governing party, All Progressives Congress, APC, in the State.
Alhaji Isimbabi’s defection comes amid internal power struggles and disagreements within his former party.
Isimbabi who represent Toto/Gadabuke cited irreconcilable differences and a lack of confidence in the opposition party’s leadership as reasons for his departure.
He praised the ruling party’s vision and leadership, expressing excitement to contribute to its mission.
Political pundits described Hon Isimbabi’s defection as a significant blow to the opposition party, which has struggled to maintain unity in recent months.
The ruling party, on the other hand, sees this as a boost to their ranks and a testament to their inclusive and progressive policies.
“After careful consideration and reflection, I have decided to leave my former party and join APC. My decision is driven by a desire to align myself with a party that shares my vision for development. I believe the ruling party’s commitment to fostering unity, peace and development is essential for the progress of our constituency.”
“Unfortunately, I have found that my former party has drifted away from its core principles and is no longer the right platform for me to effect meaningful change. I am excited to contribute my skills and experience to the ruling party and work towards a brighter future for our State and country.”
The move has sparked mixed reactions from political analysts and supporters, with some welcoming the lawmaker’s decision and others criticizing his perceived opportunism.”
A statement from the Nasarawa State House of Assembly complex disclosed that Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, member Representing Toto/Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, has defected from New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) to All Progressives Congress (APC) in Nasarawa State.
Rt. Hon. Danladi Jatau, the Speaker of the House announced this while reading Hon. Isimbabi’s defection letter during the House proceedings today in Lafia.
The Speaker said Hon. Isimbabi cited division in NNPP at the national level as the major reason of his defection to APC.
Speaker Jatau has commended the lawmaker for his bold step in joining the ruling APC in the State.
“I want to commend him for taken this very serious decision to join APC. His defection to APC is a welcome development to me as a leader of the House and to the ruling party” he said.
The Speaker said that Hon. Isimbabi defection would add value to the party.
Also speaking, Hon Aliyu Bello, the Chairman, APC in the State commended Hon Isimbabi for joining the progressive party in the Country.
“Hon Isimbabi’s defection is very significant.This is the beauty of democracy because Hon Isimbabi is our former member.
“Since there are lot of crisis in NNPP at the national level, this is necessary for him to join APC to add value to the development of the state and country” he said.
The State APC Chairman also commended Gov. Abdullahi Sule over his developmental strides in the state.
” Hon Isimbabi also joined the parry due to the developmental strides of His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi Sule in the state.
He disclosed that five more lawmakers are on their way to join APC in the State.
He said that APC door is open to welcome more people into the party..
” Very soon, five lawmakers will join APC in the State” he said.
Hon. Bello assured the lawmakers of equity and fairness in the party.
On his part, Hon Musa Abubakar Ibrahim who is now the only NNPP member in the House while congratulating Hon. Isimbabi on his defection, said that he would also join APC soon.
“Hon Isimbabi defection is a welcome development. We shared common political interest” Hon Musa said.
Responding, member Representing Toto/ Gadabuke constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Garba Isimbabi, said that he left NNPP due to division within the party at the national level.
He appreciated NNPP for giving him the platform to vie for election, in which he has won into the State Assembly.
The lawmaker said that he would continue to serve his people in order to improve on their standard of living.
“Before taken this decision to defect, I have went round into the six electoral wards of my constituency to consult them on my defection.
“They have given me go ahead to defect to APC” he said.
Hon. Isimbabi appreciated his constituents for the support and understanding he is enjoying from them and promised not to let them down thus re-affirming his total commitment to deliver on his mandate.
