The Kogi State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale on Saturday joined fellow young leaders precisely the NYNC leadership from the Idah local government area of Kogi to celebrate International Youth Day and presentation.
Comrade Benjamin Jeremiah Ojodale emphasized the transformative power of technology in empowering youth considering the impact and what technology advancement has contributed to this generation.
The theme of this year’s International Youth celebration is From clicks to Progress: Youths, Digital Pathway to Sustainable Development
In a keynote address, the Kogi State NYCN Chairman underscored the importance of digitalization in Bridging the knowledge gap and expanding access to education, Fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and job creation, enhancing civic engagement, activism, and community building, promoting digital literacy, online safety, and cybersecurity amongst others.
Comr. Ojodale stressed that digitalization is not just a tool, but a catalyst for positive change. “As young people, we must harness the potential of technology to drive progress, challenge status quos, and create a more inclusive, equitable world,”he said.
The event featured interactive sessions, lectures, and panel discussions, providing a platform for youth to share ideas, experiences, and perspectives on digitalization.
Comrade Ojodale said Idah NYCN leadership have demonstrated their commitment to amplifying youth voices and promoting digital empowerment as a key driver of sustainable development.
Ojodale, who used the opportunity to appealed to Igala nation to join hands with Kogi State government and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to develop Kogi State.
While thanking the NYCN Idah LG chapter for the honoured done him, the Chairman specifically appealed to the Chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Idah Local Government, Alhaji Alhaji to work closely with the youth council at the grassroots level if elected in the forthcoming election.
He strongly advocated for youth and women in leadership even as he said Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has already taken the lead hence to follow suit.
The event had academic Dons, politicians, business tycoons and various groups amongst others.
