…Kwarra, ex-Majority Leader of NSHA, gives daughter Asmau’s hand in marriage.
The Immediate Past Speaker of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, has recommended that newly married couples strictly conform to marital principles to establish a stable and egalitarian home for their families.
Rt. Hon Balarabe stated that for couples to achieve marital success, they must foster an environment of true love, peace, sacrifice, tolerance and understanding, and address disagreements privately without third-party involvement.
The former Nasarawa Speaker and Chairman of the Governing Council, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Yobe State, made a call during the wedding ceremony between Asmua Yakubu Kwarra, daughter of Hon. Abdul-Hamid Yakubu Kwarra, former Majority Leader of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, representing Wamba constituency, and her husband, Yahaya Abdullahi Kuku, in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital on Saturday
Balarabe, who represented Umaisha/Ugya State Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, hail from Toto local government and emphasized that sacrifice, understanding, genuine love, and avoiding third-party interference in disputes are essential for a successful marriage.
” We are here to show solidarity and I want to congratulate the groom and the bride for their successful marriage.
” I want to call on them to embrace love, peace, effective communication, show understanding among other good attributes for their successful married home” he said.
The former Speaker further invoked divine guidance for the newly married couples, seeking wisdom and direction to ensure a prosperous marital life.
Speaking further, Rt. Hon Balarabe Abdullahi appealed to the people of the State and Nigerians to maintain a positive outlook, offer fervent prayers, and lend their support to Gov. Abdullahi Sule and President Bola Tinubu to facilitate their achievements.
On his part, Hon. Abdulhamid Yakubu Kwarra, also one time Commissioner of Information in the State and father of the Bride while congratulating them on their successful wedding, prayed God for peaceful and blessed marriage.
” Today, I am happy for the successful wedding of my daughter and her husband as it is the hope and joy of every parent to see his children grow and get married” he said.
He also urged the couple to embrace tolerance, love, unity, peace, patience and understanding for their marriage to be successful.
The State former Commissioner for Information appreciated all those who came from far and near to witness the wedding fatiha of his daughter and prayed God to return them to their various destinations safely.
On their parts, the Gom Mama of Mama Chiefdom Alhaji Mustapha Bala Zubairu Adams, who stood in for the Bride’s father also congratulated the couple and wished them happy married life thus reminding them on the need to adhere strictly to the ethics of the marriage institution.
It was reported that Alhaji Abdullahi Sabo stood in for the Groom’s father and acknowledged the payment of N200,000 as dowry.
Earlier, the Chief Iman of Angwan Toni Mosque, Lafia, Mallam Kabiru while presiding over the wedding fatiha pronounced Yahaya and Asmau as husband and wife after the payment of N200,000 as dowry and presentation of medical certificates.
He also urged them not to allow third party interfere in their marriage.
The Chief Imam further prayed for the unity, peace, progress and development of the country.
