Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki has made assured to his supporters that his potential detention at the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, would not exceed forty-five days, having reportedly earmarked $15m for legal expenditures to prevent prolonged prosecution.

Obaseki stated that if former Governor Lucky Igbinedion was offered a plea bargain, he too should receive the same consideration.

Outgoing Edo state Governor Godwin Obaseki has reportedly informed a limited number of aides regarding his intentions to circumvent potential legal action stemming from his tenure, through certain arrangements.

According to an unnamed source, the Governor has been bragging about planning to bribe the EFCC with millions of dollars in cash, which he has already made available.

Governor Obaseki allegedly confided in associates about his strategy to leverage connections with influential individuals to minimize his potential detention period with the EFCC to no more than 45 days after his immunity expires.

The people of Edo state are watching to see how Godwin Obaseki will handle this, considering the widespread fraud that occurred in the state during his eight years in office.
